I just picked up an SCT and Corsa closed box intake. Currently tuned for 91. It's pretty noticeable just based on throttle response. The car just wants to "go" more willingly. Definitely adds to the enjoyment.

I've only ever run Shell (yeah I'm one of those), but they only offer upto 91 -thinking of trying the 93 tune using Petro Canada 94

Just wondering what everyone else prefers while using the SCT

I think what people choose, depends on what octane is readily available in their areas and which mods they have made to their cars. Are you able to have both the 91 and 93 tunes in your SCT?

Yes it came preloaded with both 91/93. There was an option to program for the JLT intake aswell.

I would give that Petro 94 a try and see if it feels different enough to warrant the extra cost.

Personally would only use the SCT as a vessel to load custom tunes from your tuner. I would not run one that comes canned on the device. But that said, many have and not had issues or blown anything up lol, but typically driveability and performance are being left on the table not going custom. Maybe next mod consider a tune as well since you already have the device. Long tubes plus tune or even just a tune to run flex / e85 if available in your area.

Unfortunately e85 isn't available locally. I want to get a Steeda tune in the future, and some long tubes.

I'm just not sure how much gains I would get with steeda tune at this point since the car is relatively stock, with the only engine mod being an intake.

Looks like he has a 19, not much there N/A. Unless going E85 or FI I'd keep my money.

Personally, I use PetroCan 94 except if it’s not available then I will use Mobil / Esso 93. I’ve found the 94 at PetroCan to be about 8 cents more per liter and the 93 is about the same more than their 91. My car much prefers the 94 over the 93. I paid $2.42 per liter yesterday... basically $9.20 per US gallon. Last summer, $1.60 per liter.

Not SCT tune but a true dedicated dyno tuned 93 octane tune.

I drive 207 miles round trip to get E85. I do pick up 90-100 gallons at a time though.
