SCT general error #: 31300

Trying to access the special functions on my SCT device and getting 31300. Can’t find anything on the internet not even on the SCT support page.

what are you talking about he asked 2 questions and i gave 2 answers, yes i have an aftermarket tune

Look at all of our sign lines. They are filled with all the information of what's been done to our cars, so people can answer questions better.

And the question wasn't "do you have an after-market tune", since you have a tuner that would be a stupid question. The question was, " Was your car tuned by another party?".

The tune that is on your car right now, was it loaded from that SCT tuner?

I fail to see how having my signature blank vs having general modifications listed would help with an undefined SCT error

the car is tuned remotely by a 3rd party and i load the files to my car using the device i am trying to access special functions with

Maybe connection issue with OBDll port? SCT’s code database doesn’t even list that error #…. Weird. Strange how the strategy screen states “encrypted”. I haven’t seen that in 20 years.

doesn’t seem to be a connection issue i can do everything else with the device scan codes, clear codes, view device/ vehicle info, datalog with device/ laptop, yea i checked the support page and couldn’t find anything

You're assuming the only possible issue is with the SCT tuner, and not with who tuned it/the tune itself. Might there be a chance the tuner locked access via the SCT Tuner/diagnostics out so you (and their other clients) don't mess with their product?

Methinks you should have started with calling your tuner first.

when did i say it couldn’t be tuner related, but you knowing i have steeda vertical links and and sve steering wheel isn’t pertinent information to the concern, you’re the one assuming tuners have phone numbers and not email ticket systems also that they would respond regardless at 7am on a saturday

here’s what i got back from SCT about error 31300

"error reading vehicle info" looks like you got a masked strategy and the device does not know what vehicle its changing settings for.

they said they will forward it to the engineering team on monday

i tried reverting back to the factory tune and the special functions sections is accessible, so it looks like it’s most likely something on the tuners end blocking it but maybe there’s also a solution that SCT can patch around

By your insistence on making me drag the information about who tuned your car out of you, rather than sharing that information freely right from the start. It makes it obvious you never even considered it could be a tune/software issue, and not a problem with the SCT unit. You went straight to "it's an SCT problem", and never had any other thought.



I didn't assume anything.

Look son.....when you learn how to properly communicate, things will be easier for you. That's the reason most of us list all of our mods, to communicate technical details. To give a basis for helping each other.

But you keep on coming here contributing nothing, and doing nothing but asking for help, while not even bothering to share the pertinent details about your car to help us answer your cries for help.

ok “boomer” all i stated was i had gotten a general error and couldn’t find information on it. i was hoping someone had seen this before and had helpful information not that me being ignorant of what a code with no description meant i was refusing to share information. just because i have an SCT and am trying to get into special functions so either crank relearn or kam reset means i can’t have a stock car. and you and one other person had responded and neither of the signatures have any information that would have been useful in this situation, but ok delete comment and act like you contributed

I'm the very person that made you even think about the possibility that it was the tune file/tuner.

Up until I posted, you thought you had a problem with your SCT unit.
