@El_tucanaso You made a payment on Jan 9th, and then a filed a dispute on Jan 10th? What prompted you to chase a refund so quickly? A day or two to pack and ship seems reasonable to me? What am I missing?

He said he was going to ship that morning as soon as he received payment. After I sent payment that morning, he did not ship. I messaged him hours later and he said he was going to ship that morning (weird since nowhere in the USA was it close to morning). I gave him the rest of the day and sent him a message the next day. No response since. Maybe I did act brash, but to me it was enough evidence to act accordingly. It’s not my first rodeo.

I think you missed some of the extra context. OP was smart to follow his instincts, as the dude totally gave off scammer vibes with his awkwardly constructed sentences and then lied about being the one that voluntarily refunded the money.

Which part? I seen the refund. When you request a refund from paypal if the other party disputes it, it takes way longer than the same day to get your $ back.

I would not have had a problem with it being shipped days later, but the silence after payment was all I needed to call fraud especially after he was soo quick with each response since the getgo.

You are correct. However, I also disputed it with my bank after PayPal notified me about it taking weeks for resolution. I received an email that my bank contacted PayPal about the issue hence the “quick” refund.

Yeah that would be reason to suspect I agree on that point. I'm just saying the 1 day thing was quick to suspect. Sometimes phones get dropped or 8 hour shifts turn to 12 hour shifts. My ups center has weird hours (1600-1830) & if you don't make it in that window you're screwed. Sucks to get scmmed, but at the same time things happen.

I do suspect that the label of scammer was warranted. It was a little suspicious that he made a few threads to the admins to "please delete my account." He was probably hoping the posts/evidence would disappear.
