For those of us that are older than dirt, I will point out the historical significance of how well the S550 GT350 is holding its value. When was the last time that a car, produced by the thousands, kept most of its original selling price after 5 to 10 years? This is a big deal.
Although, with inflation, what was $60k in 2016 costs $80k now.

I said nothing about the car holding it’s present value, only the future value.
I think he understood that. What he points out is an anomaly in the Market for any of us older people and is a bit confusing

SA’s 350 hasn’t been received well. That’s been gone over in previous threads. I’m obviously bias to the Ford produced 350/350R. No disputing how good these cars are. The same came be said about 650’s compared to the 550’s as to the SA350. They just haven’t been received well. The 650 needs a mid run refresh to address some of the styling in my opinion, but that’s subjective in reality. The 550’s styling wise were outstanding in that regard. We’ll see what happens to values on the regular Gt’s, the 350’s and 500’s already hold their values very well. All that said, pricing aside(is what it is), the positive to take from it is we(and others) can still buy a v8 pony car. That’s a win all day for car enthusiasts.
One day, I too, will be able to buy a v8 pony car.

I have quite a different take that is correlative with monetary value but I could really care less about that retained value of my 2017 GT350. Eight years out from purchase, on two occasions within the past week, one while at a gas station and the second at a grocery store, passersby stopped to state what a great looking car this was with a great smile on their faces. Similarly, while driving interstates there is a clear deference showed to this car either when you pull up behind someone and they see you in their rearview mirror or as they pull up behind you and follow rather than pass. Now that is retained "value". I have no intention of getting as much money as I can if I do sell it rather than leave it as an inheritance (which is probably what I will do)but would only ask that someone take care of and respect the car.

If you never plan to sell, current market values are irrelevant! Let the executor of your will figure it out 😆

No argument. The subtlety of different "value" I was speaking of perhaps escaped you.
True… Really, value is something that means something different to just about everyone.

Serial numbers 1-9 will always hold higher value than later numbers. Condition and mileage of course still taken into consideration also.
