How many would be interested in a 3150 lb s550 with 490-500HP and DCT for a $10,000 premium over the GT?

Would you buy the Vette C7 at $64,000 or the Mustang at $48,000 with comparable options?

Are you baiting us? I might buy the Stingray at 52k (base) and be super happy that I've got the most competent "sports car" for the money. Never had a Vette and this ones the best yet and cheap.

Or I might buy ANOTHER Mustang. I don't know yet.

How bout you?

No thanks. I'll keep our 2013 GT500 w/ 662bhp for the same price as the C7.

I don't think you are going after C7 crowd with that as much as you are looking at a Z28. The Z28 will be that price stripped down Camaro with a ls7 ceramic brakes 305 tires all around street legal road racing car.

Sardeanie.......Ive had a 2006 Z06 at $69,000, it was a lot of car, though it lacked supportive seats. I don't think you'll stop at $52,000 on the new Vette. I priced one starting with the base price and other options, like Z51, color, seats, suspension, interior group, wheels which ended up being closer to $64,000. Each new generation has been the best yet. you may consider a low mileage ZR1 later too.

Trolls....The Camaro is heavier and with 505HP would be less comparable to a sub 320lb Mustang with 490HP. That type of Mustang would surely be in the 11's and cost $10,000 less than the Camaro.

I too looked at a C7 Z51 Vette with 460HP. It does have a nice body, but the Mustang has picked up some Aston Martin side window treatment and better lines. With even $5000 for add-ons like CAI/Tune/Exhaust and weight saving options on a GT, it will squeeze between the Camaro and Vette

Ford can't make such a GT350 for less than the price of the C7. In saying that I'd still buy it.

C7 or Mustang will likely be my next car. Choice comes down to how improved the Mustang driving experience is. So far, the lower hood and lower seating, IRS, and improved front suspension make me think that while it won't be quite as sporty as the C7, it may be very close. And with the extra seats, I'm leaning towards a Mustang. Especially if they have a version similar to the Boss 302, with improvements for trackdays.

When I option out a C7 it comes to $66,375, so a Mustang for $45,000 that performs close, or, more importantly, FEELS as fun to drive, would be great for me.

2013-14 GT500 start @ $54K. Still has 662bhp. How much bhp for the C7?
460 hp. BUT, bone stock Stingrays have dipped well into the 11's at the strip and pulled way over 1G in the skids. It seems like a very balanced and effective car.

Back to the OP, I'll answer your question straight out. YES. If Ford can deliver a car just as you suggest I will indeed get in line. :)

10K over the base GT price or a loaded GT premium price?

$43K yes please. $53K would be out of my price range.

Also I don't think that weight will be possible.

3,150 might be possible with the ecoboost and some aftermarket weight savings like wheels/tires, exhaust, seats, so on.
