Not surprisingly no 'payoff' when I clicked thru, (likely a typo for the GT350), but the optimist in me was encouraged.

2016 gt500?

I typed in new gt500 in Google this morning and one of the results is from the ford website. Anyone know anything about this or am I late to the party? I gave up my daily search for new gt500 info so I could be out of the loop

Here is a screen shot of what I found.

http://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/trim/shelbygt500/ link is active lol. This may actually be a pretty credible leak. They probably designed the website for 2016, and tried to hide this portion. Could be a late release like the '15 GT350?

The GT350 isn't a 2015 though. It's 2016.

They made 137 2015 GT350s
100 GT350 and 37 GT350Rs

They are now starting to produce the 2016s
They will make 5,000 GT350s and 500 GT350Rs

I have a 2016 GT350 on order

There is no official word on the GT500 but the rumor is that Ford will not produce the m side by side (the 350 and 500)

I hope that is wrong and they will produce the 500 along with the 350. I got my deposit back on the gt350 because it wasn't what I want. It is a really nice car, but fact is in not in to handling and road racing as much as drag racing and it wasn't worth the hassle of swapping cars for an extra 90 hp. The gt500 with the rumored 700 hp is what I want. If they wait till 18-19 my then I will get a z06 or something with more power. I've never owned a dodge so may give the hellcat or a viper a try.

With all due respect... 90hp isn't the only difference between the 350 and other mustangs. Way to much to mention... But yes, the GT350 is a track car.

Shelby North America is producing a Supersnake on the S550 platform. But the word on the street is that Ford has said they will make 350s through MY17. After that who knows...

I'm beyond jealous of you! I live just outside of Dearborn and see GT350s running around here all the time (some in camo, some not). The sound is out of this world and it just looks so darn mean! If I win the lottery, you better believe my first purchase is that car.

I am 43 years old and have been saying for a Mustang all my life. Wanted a 13 or 14 GT and then saw the new S550 and decided to wait.
Then the rumors oh the 350 hit last fall :headbonk:

Moderators.........I hope this is OK here, if not please move to the most appropriate sub-section (perhaps we could/should have a future/rumour section? )

The GT500 is already being discussed in a number of threads so I thought it would be good to try and keep the discussion in one place.

OK, the car hasn't officially been recognised by Ford, but then neither was the GT350 until is was recently launched ;) Even Jamal Hameedi said "well, GT350 has good bones" when asked if they would be a GT500, so that's a near a confirmation we've had.

So, lets have your thoughts, hopes and dreams as far as GT500 is concerned.

Me? I want:

• '18MY - coincides with Mustang's first sheetmetal refresh (ideally, I'd like GT500 to have a relatively subtle wide-body look - Fisker's Rocket does this well)

• 725hp/700lb ft
• Ecoboost Coyote or
• Supercharged Coyote 5.0
• 6-speed manual OR 10-speed auto
• MagnaRide suspension

GT500 HAS TO REMAIN A V8 please, Ford!!

skip the Supercharged it's played out to me
get with the program and add turbos no body wants a 10 speed
auto in a GT500 come dude :headbonk:
