* It will be a MY2019
* You will see it first at the 2018 NAIAS
* Will go on sale in the summer of 2018
* Will not be a TT
* Will have a larger fixed wing on the back that you have seen in pictures
* Will beat the current GT350 around the track
* Will be an absolute monster
I don't know who you are, but if this is legit, can we be friends :D

.Maybe 755 like posted... what a drag.
.

Comes to something when "only" 755 horses is a little disappointing. We really are living in the greatest muscle car era :headbang:

Honestly, 755hp in a RWD street car should be enough to accomplish a lot of trouble. 800hp would be fun for a set of tires but that's about it.

My 07 500 was fun to kick around once in a while but my 13 B302 was much better fun. My 16 R is just damn right and just damn ridiculous.
Yeah, your right, not much use for street driving in a rwd. My 760hp was tough to hook up with large meat out back. Was fantastic from 50 to 130 tho. 800+ would be nice with drag mode, something to just use at the strip. Doesn't look like it will be the HP king either way. Oh well. A great driving car is must, so hopefully ford can pull it off with all the weight over the front wheels with a huge blower on it. It's gotta be able to beat this ZL1...so whatever that takes. Guess ford is gonna let the ADR take the strip mojo. No problem, as long as we get a great driving car that is as fast on the street. I whole heartedly believe that the demon will beat the GT500 at the track but even with 850.hp.and wide meat out back its gonna have a tough time putting it down. Nothing worse than doing a few friendly stoplight pulls getting good beat by focus RS's haha.

Your right, 755 is plenty for on road performance...too much actually. Would be nice if they offered a track key for strip and tunes the car for over 800 tho. Hahaha!

Okay guys,..........here's the email we were waiting for.

They canceled the 2018 GT500
Ford decided to make the GT350 another year for 2018 instead… And probably won’t do a GT500 again until the body change in 2020… (which would be in the YEAR 2019)

Great info, thanks! Makes sense with the lack of mules. Does your guy know anything about GT350s beyond 2018?

2019 CY for 2020. Would most likely be late model year 2020, so actually year 2020. They never have built SE mustangs early first run. No GT500 until then, but we have heard something with a different name. We will see. I doubt ford would let the zl1, a direct competitor, take all the accolades. Besides, If ford is gonna keep good on their 12 by 20 they got a long way to go. I just think he is trying to dodge the question some way. Either that or even they don't know. Nobody at all knew about the GT so I believe same could be said for this car!

Interesting info, thank you!

I guess we just have wait to see if he's correct.

I do have a hunch something's coming.......for '19MY but what it is remains to be seen! I do find it hard to believe we won't see another Ford Performance Mustang before the S650....

:)

TN.....do you think we'll see another Ford Performance Mustang before S650? We don't usually see an SVT/FP product in the first year of production, anyway......although a (very) small amount of GT350 scraped into the back end of the '15MY.

Either GT350 will have to carry on until the end of S550 (hopefully with updates) or something else is going to have to fill that gap......

Looks like Motor Trend will be praising the ZL1 as king for a while.
Catching wind of the demon must have thrown product planning into a tailspin! What they planned to put out might have been obsolete from the start. Too bad ford's development team is about a year behind the others and can't seem to gain ground.

I am pretty sure that there will not be another se mustang until at least 2020 as a 21 model. Fords focus has shifted from performance to building the autonomous city of the future. I actually will be surprised if we see another. Mustang has returned to pre terminator days of just make it stylish and it will sell and ford doesn't care if competitors kill it in performance.

Demon is a somewhat street-able Drag Strip car with no passenger and rear seating but still weighs over 2 tons...talk-about niche market.
The ZL1 is not selling at $70K+...
Ford Performance has 12 cars slated before 2020

Exactly my thoughts... the Demon is a street answer to the Cobra Jet. Imho, it is just an exercise to claim 1/4-mile king status. It won't turn left or right, which is sad cause even NASCAR can at least turn left.

Ford has time to bring out a ZL1 killer, still... and I am hoping that does happen but the closer we get to the S650's coming, that answer will likely be a s/c car based on a 350 platform.

I don't believe it will be called the "GT500" or "Mach 1" but rather will be an exercise in its own right and reserve it's on nomenclature. An "R" designation would steal from the 350R, and Shelby American just brought out their new ride so I think the "350" is out as well.

"Cobra" possibly, but I doubt it... we shall see.
