What about a short track when your only using a couple gears?142 MPH's for 8 seconds...that's a lot of ground covered....that would be a long track...IMO

A short straight the leads into a sweeper followed by a another short straight into a tight turn before a long straight will keep it high in the revs way longer than 8 secs. Do you race cars? So you're telling me you hit the rev limiter wait approximately 1-2 seconds then shit for the next gear? I usually shift before the rev limiter that way the car never stops accelerating...Really? Based on this info it will be problem. If you read it carefully it does not state redline for 8 seconds, it states above 6250 for 8 seconds which is what most are commenting on. If you are at 8250rpm for 8 seconds you are an idiot plain and simple. Above 8k I could see this feature but 6250 seems a bit conservative and to me brings up questions of long term longevity.You guys are tripping... Don't speculat so negatively on such a great car. No matter what it's 100% better then any GT500 and quite a bit cheaper. If Ford Never printed that, 99% owners wouldn't know it existed after owning the car for a year. Better yet everyone cancel your orders, that way I could get one below invoice. Go buy a GT it doesn't stop you at 6250..
Isn't peak power at 7500rpms? Isn't that the goal on a high rev motor to stay near peak power while racing?You guys are tripping... The goal is to get around the track quickly. If you are running in a straight line, there's no reason to keep the revs down. However, on corners and bumps it may be important to apply power very smoothly and incrementally to avoid going off. Depending on how much traction you have, you may be a lot better off in a lower RPM range where it's easier to control the car.Isn't peak power at 7500rpms? How many? I wonder if the multimatic cars are limited by the same standards or if there can be any resolve by looking there. I'm genuinely curious as well. I can only attest to it not being an issue 1-3, shifting at 7700. Hmm. It doesn't bother me from a performance standpoint, but it definitely bothers me from a longevity/quality standpoint, especially since I'll likely look into aftermarket tuning at some point. I'm also curious what the weak link is that makes this necessary.I know how many Voodoo prototypes destroyed themselves during testing.
I think you're also forgetting how fast this thing rev's. Honestly it only looks like it would be an issue on a top speed pull. That was my concern and reason for posting it as well. People were concerned with thin piston skirts and now it seems that is the least of our concerns.How many?
