This is impressive: "90 percent of peak torque produced from
approximately 3450 – 7000 rpm"

This not so much: "Engine Overrev Indicator
• Helps increase the performance range of Shelby GT350
• Overrev is indicated on the tachometer by raising the
redline from 6250 to 8250 rpm
– When conditions permit, overrev is indicated by a
8250 rpm redline
– If conditions limit overrev accessibility, the
tachometer redline is illuminated at 6250 rpm
• Engine torque and maximum rpm are limited until
coolant temperature reaches 170 degrees F
• Warm-up is indicated when the illuminated
tachometer redline changes from 6250 rpm to
7000 rpm
• Once the engine is warm, the overrev feature allows
8 seconds above 6250 rpm up to 8250 rpm
• If the 8-second time limit is exceeded, maximum
engine rpm is reduced to 6250 until both of the
following occur:
– Engine is operated for at least 15 seconds below
6000 rpm
– Engine rpm falls below 5000"

Yeah, it seems a little conservative but no doubt the tuners will be turning that off as soon as they get a hold of it. It is kind of a bummer but I bet most owners won't ever notice it.

I like these kind of features. It's basically the car protecting itself. BMW M cars have had the RPM warm up feature for a while now, although I don't think there is an actual rev limiter during warm up.

Where did you get this info?

I was given a 33 page document today.

Maybe not red line but, this says above 6250.
It prob revs so fast from 6250-8200, unless you're trying to do top speed runs. Better safe then sorry. I'm sure people will tune this out and melt Pistons on 1 mile ovals. Lol

The bulk of that IS a warmup safety feature, for the clueless people. I was unaware of the timeout. In aggressive street driving I don't see it being encountered. Realistically the only scenario I see it is a high rpm smoky burnout.

The GT500 had something similar. It's basically so people don't keep it at 8k forever. Basically under hard acceleration you are only gonna be between 6k and 8k a couple seconds. Then shift, rpm falls and restarts the 8 seconds after the tach swings past 6k again.

Yup. My e92 M3 wouldn't rev 5,500 before the engine warmed up. I coded it so that it would go to 4,000. :D

Smart of Ford to have these features to prevent people with no mechanical sympathy from destroying their engines in short order.

Well then the rest of us will just have to wait longer for all those spare parts from the guys that blew their cars up. Darn it.

hey OP,

was there anything on the specs of magneride? are there any difference between R and non-R? and most importantly, is it gen3 or gen2 that we are getting?

I will be kinda shocked if Ford decided to shove a gen2 system in there, considering neither track or tech page is cheap and GM only charges less than 2k for a gen3 system on c7 and other cars...

Thank you

Based on the specs they gave out concerning the response times of the MR shocks, I'm pretty sure it's Gen 3. I believe Gen 2 was above 20ms or more and the GT350 are something like 7ms if I remember correctly. Something like that.
