I went to the dyno today. First pull on my street tune pulled 659rwhp/560tq
Second run. Ran torco and race tune with little more timing pulled 687rwhp/565tq
Third run I removed the lid off the roush air filter to see what would happen pulled 708rwhp/596tq.
Pretty sure had the car cooled a little more between runs it would have been a tad higher.
Dynamite sir! Those are great numbers. Car must be a beast! The torque is great, seeing a lot of higher HP cars don't have as high TQ numbers.
Enjoy and good luck at the track!

Yeah me neither. I think it was also the fuel mixed with torco better after prior pull?
There was probably non-treated fuel in the system (pump, fuel line, injector rails etc.) at the start of that 2nd run. By the 3rd run, it was fully purged & you were really seeing the full effect of adding the torco ??

Wonder if driving with that lid off would eventually cost you power due to the intake sucking in heated underhood air & raising the inlet temp, especially if you were driving in traffic. I've watched my inlet temp climb from ambient + 4/5 deg. (cruising - no long stops) to ambient + 30 deg. stuck in traffic.

I drove 80 miles with lid off my iat never went above 108. I'm going to order the roush gasket for the air filter now. Seals it to the hood.

I put torco/race tune in in 2nd run. I do think the huge difference was the gas getting mixed on 2nd run.

Just a lil higher timing is main change from my non race tune. I kind of want to go back dyno with non race tune and lid off see what happens

It was amazing seeing the difference with the air box lid off. It just restricts the air flow too much. Open air box FTW!!!

If you put the gasket on (I presume this "seals" it to the hood liner) wouldn't that be almost the same as having the lid on ?

No because it's under the heat extractor.

I'm also going to make a real air affect by opening the honey comb in the front bumper

I bought the Ford Racing 132mm TB from Brenspeed and they handed me the gasket and told me to open the box with kind of a "Trust us" face.

AWESOME my friend! I am stoked to see you get over that 700 mark. Happy to be of any assistance along the way too.

I saw your message. I have just been real busy, sorry for the non reply.

I still have this new air filter I made specifically for your car. We really need to make some time to go again and throw this filter on it, and see what happens. ;)

Just let me know your schedule. I'm sure we can figure something out :)

I think at this point I need the OPG/Timing sprocket. I'm also getting my Slicks from Terry in the next month or two, and then wanna get to track dial this puppy in. Then I say we do fuel system, E85 tune and try to get over 800 :eyebulge:

Best part is this wasn't a glory run but a real world drive to dyno hop on see how it does. Between the 3 runs only maybe 10 mins of cooldown each time. Very happy with these results as I'd wager if I went for a glory run I'd see over 730rwhp.
