Roush CAI Installed

Got my Roush intake from the brown truck today. Took about an hour to install...30 minutes of that was taking the stupid sound tube out:frusty:. I didn't want it anyways but note that Roush does not provide a port for it. The box is huge so the sound tube wouldn't fit anyways with this intake. You will have to relocate your MAF sensor wiring harness a little bit too but no biggie.

Fit and finish is excellent. I'm running the insert inside the tube as I don't have a tune yet. Insert is 85mm. Take it out and you then have 105mm. The seal around the top of the box makes good contact with the bottom the hood. The box is so big that it extends back far enough to draw air in from the hood vent. It also draws air from the stock location behind the grille. I have not driven it yet but I will report back tomorrow on IAT readings and sound.

I don't have a tune as I am running the 85mm insert. If I was to take it out, then a tune is required.

Most likely a Lund tune in the future if they do it with this intake.

Quick update:

Morning commute had some interesting results. It was raining out so I couldn't do any substantial, full throttle sprints. The intake has a nice growl and still can be heard over my MBRP sport catback. Throttle response is improved and is nice and crisp without having to put it in "sport" mode. Outside temperature probably played a big part in that.

Now understand that the outside air temperature this morning made it so the roads and urban areas were not roasting with heat yet, but these 2 pics below were taken at the same time. NEVER did the IAT go 5 degrees over ambient. For the most part, this was at 50 mph in 6th approx. 1400 rpm due to traffic. So far, I am very pleased and can't wait for the weather to improve.
