I installed the Roush CAI on my Mustang GT this weekend. I know it won't give me any performance boost without a tune, I bought it for looks at this point. I do like the fact that it comes with an insert that can be removed if I do decide to tune the car. Install was very easy, this is definitely a mod anyone can do. Hardest part was removing the nut that holds the sound tube to the firewall. Again, not difficult, just requires a bit of patience.
The engine bay looks way better in my opinion with the CAI and the sound tube removed. I did decide to keep the engine cover and modify it as per the instructions. I decided to keep it as the engine bay looks very cluttered and ugly without it. Again, just my opinion.
I can't say I notice any difference with the sound tube gone and the hole in the firewall capped. Which makes me question why Ford invested R&D dollars and expense for this part. I mean they could have used that money in many other places on the car to make improvements that would be noticed. How about some dress up parts for the engine?
