Hello everyone, I ordered the Roush Intake for my 20’ Mustang GT for Black Friday. But I barely installed it yesterday. Now I don’t really want to cut up my engine cover but it is “suggested “ in the instructions. So I tried installing it as is without cutting it and it seems to be secured. Now I don’t know if I like the look without it or with it. What do yall think? Run with the cover on or off??

Looks weird with the cover, but it also looks like it's going to rub.

I kinda trimmed mine. No rubbing and I am ok with the way it looks.

Take it off. I took mine off to get to the PCV line and just decided to run without it to see if it got noisy. To my surprise, it didn't. I expected the DI to get clackety but I can't hear a difference with and without so I left if off.

To each his own, but If it was me, i would hack that cover up after tracking down a spare to have on the shelf incase i ended up hating the fact that i cut it/wanted to put it back to factory. Or keep the original and find a spare to cut up. Then you can do both 😎 Those engine covers can be had in good used condition at a fairly reasonable cost 👍🏻

Yea I just like the look of it with both on and off so I wanted to see for others opinions. I don’t think mine will rub due to it being tight there’s no wiggle room

They do look nice and clean together. I ultimately decided I don't care how it looks which is what led to my decision to check for noise then remove.

If they touch, they will rub. Then they will wear in on each other over time and end up looking bad. If you are going to keep it, I'd trim it up until they don't touch each other.

My trim was a bit more drastic. This gives ready access to the filter.

And, in filing this photo, I found an older one. This subject may have come up previously. A search may uncover more ideas.

Cover off looks way better to me imo. I like seeing everything "raw"
