They actually said I don’t need to bring a tuner. They do it all. $875 for dyno tune. $650 for street tune. If you power add you’ll have to pay but it’s a discounted rate. I guess the dyno won’t be ready until end of the month so for now he can do the street tune. They just bought the dyno and getting it set up.
Will you be tuning for just pump gas (93 for now)? I copy you on the injectors being able to support E85 and you wanting to install catless headers down the road. I’m guessing there will be an additional fee when that time comes. With that being said, I don’t think it’s worth it to do any kind of tune until you get the headers and:decide to run E85.

93 is hard to find in Oklahoma. For now just 91 tune. I’ll do E85 revision + headers when I have the money.

Bama told me that they don't have a tune for the 2018 manifold and that the gt350 throttle body won't work with the older 2017 cars...did you get different information
You’re correct. I’m just sending the tuner back and going to pay for a dyno tune by “Ortiz Performance, LLC”.

I already have a tune on my stock gt using there tuner that came with cold air intake so I'm going to use the gt350 tune on my 2018 intake that they provide and my stock 80mm throttle body because I love the ghost cam they have.

Ortiz is going to sell me an RTD tuner for $300 as well. This way when I have the cat delete headers I can do a revision and go E85 if I want.

I’m thinking of waiting a little longer. Maybe get some long tube headers and cat deletes to complete the exhaust. And it’s snowing this weekend 🙄

I have the stage 2 power pack, which is just the 87 mm TB and the gt350 CAI and a tune from ford racing, and long tube headers and I made 425 to the tire on 93 octane. Assuming a 15% driveline loss with a 6mt, that puts me right at 500 at the crank.

If the op hasn't installed the parts yet, return everything. Unless your going boosted, you don't need the bigger injectors. And BAMA tunes are garbage. Just buy the stage 2 or 3 power pack from ford and get some long tube headers. The ford tune is spot on for drivability.

Yes, I am going to now after researching! I bought 3” Texas Speed long tubes 1 7/8, to go to my cat back with x pipe. And I’ll do catlass.

So JLT, 87mm TB, 18 intake, 47lb injectors. Cat-less headers to cat back and tune. I also have the 1” drop FP street lowering springs that I’ll install (and hope no clearance issues with headers)

I also took some time to actually research tuners too. I got an SCT tuner that came with 2 Bama tunes. Now I know Bama isn’t the best and can’t accommodate what I have (which btw their site has an option to click GT350 TB and headers and lots of things, but they cant do the 18 intake). But I also know that SCT device is really nice and holds 10 custom tunes & is wifi/iCLOUD capable & Ortiz tuning said they can it to load their tune so I’m not sending it back for an HP RTD. Ortiz has a local dealer with a dyno getting set up end of this month. Now we can do 91/Flex/E85.

Yes and no. I had the ford tune modified by a local tuner to turn off the CEL after the header install. Other than that one change, it's the ford tune.

I wouldn’t return anything. 47 lb injectors allow me the option to run e85, this is per American muscle and the Ford Dealership. The other parts were highly recommended by Ortiz. The TB is tunable and it’s too late to return anything now. >30 days out.

I decided to fck around with the Bama tune in the meantime since I paid for it. Why the Fck is my car revving HIGHER when I’m in neural or my foot is ON the clutch. Like you coming to a stop and coast and this bitch goes from 1500 to 2500 rpm and then finally idols. What on earth is this madness.

It should work itself out over time. The factory ECM still has a range of adjustability in it and will compensate for that over time. My car did this with the PMAS CAI and it eventually worked itself out after driving it for a while.

Don’t get me wrong I plan on getting a “real” dyno tune from Ortiz. But I’m taking advice and getting headers first then doing all the other crap. All we did today was put that jlt cold air intake on and I already have the cat back. I just requested a 91 race tune and a 91 ghost cam tune (from Bama since I had already paid for them). Man…. The car DIED after the ghost cam upload. Fuck that shit this is my daily driver. So then I tried 91 race and I will say… boy it PULLS lol. But it had that idoling issue where I am clutch in and it’s revving higher before it goes to idol. So I then try the 91 performance and same thing. Oh well. I drove around and data logged and I think it automatically uploads to cloud but I called TODAY and made a ticket to look into it. I remember reading something about you have to drive like 50 miles for the ecu to adapt. Other than that no issues and no codes.
