So the rev hang remains in all modes but track. Rev match on or off. It’s still there on upshifts. And it gets worse past 4k rpm. I don’t run out to redline. But shifting to 3rd gear past 5k rpm kinda sucks. Any other gear it isn’t as bad. I see the tire change may affect it. I went from a staggered 275/255/40/19 to a squared 285/35/19. On. The fronts are a 27”to a 26.9” which is 0.4% difference and the rear difference 27.7” to a 26.9” and the rears are a 2.9% difference. My Speedo will show a 2mph difference around 60mph. I’ll have to change and see if that changes anything. I have the Forscan cables from my Bronco, but don’t have a windows laptop to do it with anymore.
Anyone in the northeast (Albany/mass-ish area) familiar with Forscan want to change some settings?

So I just drove my boss’s 21 scatpack manual. That thing drives with 0 rev hang. You actually have to keep your foot on the gas between shifts to stop it from dropping too low. I can shift that car just as fast as an automatic. And the clutch is an appropriate length, not 8 inches of travel like our cars. And it has a factory short shifter. And the steering feedback is 100% better, and the whole car feels more solid. Downside it’s a heavy boat and pretty slow.

I love my car but damn this made me realize the stock clutch and trans setup actually sucks. I’ll be fiddling with tire size in forscan tonight for sure to see if I can make it better.

There might be a manual hellcat in my future now instead of a gt350.

Everything I know about rev hang and a manual 2019+ GT is the rev hang is there for emissions reasons only. Mine was basically tuned out with the Ford Performance kit. You can have a tuner remove it on yours if you're willing to tune.

It was by far the #1 worst thing about the car stock to me.

I am tuned. It is removed. The car still “learns” some rev hang once the ecu completes its 200 mile relearn after the flash. That’s why I think it may be tire size related because the car isn’t sure where to hold revs between shifts.

none of that negates the 8” clutch throw, 3” long friction point or the terrible shifter these cars come with.

I have my tire revolutions per mile set up right with my tune device, so you might be right about that being part of your issue. I don't get any hang when I shift, it starts dropping immediately in any rpm and gear.

If you haven't replaced the pedal spring with the Steeda one, do that today.
Done. TonyNJ hooked me up with one. Clearly a major improvement in the factory clutch. Still nowhere close to the dodge clutch.

I have a scat 6mt as well. I find the clutch feel and interaction on the Dodge to be worse actually. But mine still has that retarded flow limiter in the line.

Despite both being tremecs, they do feel different. I don't think I'd call the Dodge a short throw either.

I spent some decent $$$$ fixing the chassis so big Bertha could try to corner better than drunk fishing trawler though. Handling is definitely not it's strong suit.

You have the temec though. Big difference in that setup from my mt82. I have no doubt ford has the tremec set up better than dodge does. They sure as hell don’t have the mt82 set up correctly from the factory though. My short throw mt82 shifter is still a longer throw than the stock dodge.

I think the dodge chassis actually has real potential to be a handler. Unfortunately it’s saddled with 600lbs more weight than Mercedes designed it for back in the day. My charger actually communicates grip very well, it just only pulls .85g’s because it’s a boat on the softest bushings and springs they could put in it.

Actually I have all 3. The GT has Ford short throw paired with Steeda U bracket.
The tremec itself is 90% of the difference. I should not have driven the dodge because now I’m hell bent on ditching the mt82. The tremec feels exactly like my old ford top loader 4 speed which I love.

Alot of people blame the transmission I personally think it's the clutch. The car bangs and rolls forward slightly if you try to slam it into gear from a stop. That's a clutch adjustment issue. The lock out issues, clutch. The clutch sucks ass. I wish it was a cable like my old mustang and I could have full adjustment over it. I also hate how it releases at the top. I like it more near the floor. It's unfortunate Ford went with a terrible manual set up. Seems like they want everyone to buy an auto

Yep I agree. If you know how to adjust the clutch I’d be very interested. Doesn’t seem like you can though. There’s just no reason to have it only release such a small amount that it still rubs the flywheel when hot.

This is an interesting combo I haven't thought of. It's usually MGW vs Barton on here with nobody talking about this kinda setup.
