Hey guys, what is the normal wear mileage for the PP tires (19x8.5 black rims, 255 front, 275 rear)? Also, does everyone just run 275 on all 4 corners when the time comes for new rubber? Seems silly to have the 255s up front...cant rotate. Any issues in running the larger front tire from stock (speedo, rubbing)?

Manufacturers design cars to understeer because it’s safer dor the average driver. That’s the reason for the 255 in front
You can run 275 easy but you need larger wheels

You can't rotate anyway even if you run 275 tires all around because the front wheels are narrower than the rears. I mean I guess you can, but that would be even sillier.

You should be able to get 15-20k on those.

Just looked it up...damn, I guess the front is 19x9 and the rear is 19x9.5. lol, guess that makes it easy. So putting 275 on the front wont change anything drastic? I have just over 5k on them now...doubt I can make it to 15k. Maybe 10...

The stock mystang comes with a square set up, on 235 sized tires which is worse traction wise in every way to the pp 255 and 275 tires. I doubt they put bigger in the rear for understeer utherwise base model mustangs with the same exact hp would also have a staggered setup.

Almost every manufacturer puts understeer into cars nowadays. Whether by staggering tire widths or by putting lots of rear camber on cars. But yes, they do in fact do this because the average driver can't actually drive.

You have many ways to design understeer, sway bars, camber, roll stiffness, weight distribution, etc
Tires is just one of them
The mustang is a front heavy understeering pig that need way more front tires for good/great handling
Do you understand what exactly understeer is and why it’s safer for average driver ?

Not only are the PP1 wheels wider in the back, the offsets are also different. It's not just a matter of running 275s on all four corners if you want to be able to rotate them. That's why we buy four wheels with the same offset (+35 or sometimes +40 will work). Stock rears are like +52 I think, so you'd need spacers up front for clearance. I'n not sure what would happen if you moved the narrower front wheels to the rear, but I doubt it would be good. Plus, you can run the 275s on 10" wide wheels, which are wider than either of your stock wheels, will handle better than the staggered setup, and will allow for 4-wheel rotation.

Thanks guys...didn't realize that the rims were wider on the rear's...I thought it was just a wider tire on the same rim. I guess I'll stick to OEM sizes.
