Well I’d call Ford customer service. They probably won’t replace it till it blows up seizes. Or keep driving it till it blows up. It’s going to get worse, so drive it another two k miles, keep an eye on the level and how much you have to add to top it off. When it takes more than 1 quart after 500 miles, take it back and ask for another consumption test. I had to do two of them till my new motor was approved.

I just read it, did i miss something about the catch cans?
It appears that part of the troubleshooting is based on the amount of oil with dye on the back side of the intake valves....a catch can would skew the outcome of their findings.
I'd let them add the dye and perform the oil consumption test. Hopefully you have a good relationship with the store....follow their lead

Simple enough to remove the catch cans before taking it in though...

What's weird though, that it says long block should be replaced for both no oil, and for oil found lol... so based on that chain of tests the end result is the same no matter what.

Yes I agree, after getting down to three quarts left...they should have replaced it.

I didn’t say a catch can is a bad thing. Just not helpful in the stores effort to get him what he wants....good customer no service lol

And it also states in the first page. “Since the most likely repair will be a complete long block assembly that will probably push it past our cost cap.” Please bear with me, English is not my first language but to my translation it states that it needs complete long block but won’t be able to do it bc it’s out of their repair budget? Am I understanding this correctly?

I'm guessing they have a cap at which they have to get prior authorization to do the repair.

I think that means the dealership needs a pre authorization to replace the engine from ford. That they just can’t perform the surgery before they know the insurance will pay for it. Protects the dealership and insures they will be reimbursed
Common language in any expensive repairs

The long block is about 16k US dollars and the install adds on another 3 or 4 k. They take the intake off and other pieces from the bad motor and install it on the new motor and out the engine back in. Mines be great so far, at 1300 miles and no oil at all used. I’m checking it each time I gas up.

Follow your dealerships advice & directions and things should go smooth...smoother....
Maybe have them give you written directions on your receipt.
Drive the car as you normally do and go back when they direct you to. I’d keep an eye on the oil dipstick along the way.

Well, no instructions from the dealer. All they said was it’s normal, check oil every 500 miles and keep topping off the oil as needed.....

Request an oil consumption test.
Did your dealership give you that attachment you posted or did you find it on your own?
Master tech back in a few weeks...till then ...sit tight
Or call Ford directly as suggested

Well this last visit was when the master tech came back. First time was around thanksgiving and I went back around early dec and that’s when they told me master tech away. Didn’t bother me much bc the car was going to tucked away for winter. Finally brought it back out and this was the last visit I made.. the documents were provided by the dealership.

Based your attachment and you being left with 3 quarts in the sump vs mileage...
Call Ford if your dealership is ignoring you
