This is my First stick shift car and right now it's like unpredictable to where the engagement point is at. I'm hoping by doing this it gives me a better feel!

Removed mine as soon as I got home from the dealer lot, have owned a few manuals and the S550 with the spring is just plain awful. Once it's removed everything is fixed. Well worth it in my opinion and just as easy to put back in if you even feel like it or need to, nothing it can do to the warranty either.

You get used to it real fast, but removing the spring gives you a better feel ,but for me, it made the clutch harder to press and for dd was not the best

Atleast give it a go and find out yourself if its something you will like

Lol, seriously, I was in the same boat. First time in the car, and I was lurching around down the street. My wife was like "Are you SURE you know how to drive this thing?" Did a bit of digging around and removed that damn spring. Stupid super-high engagement point, smh.

But to the OP, I don't know if voids the warranty or not, but it's so easy to put back on that I would imagine it would be a non issue. I just popped mine off, put the few pieces in a ziplock bag, and stashed it in the trunk for future use if I need to pop it back on.

Pulled mine out and threw it in the trash within minutes of getting home. Stalled the car on my first Drive because of it. I hadn't owned a manual since just before I met my wife so she didn't believe me I knew how to drive a stick until our 1st drive without that stupid thing. The clutch gets a little heavier but I DD mine in pretty bad traffic without really noticing the clutch.

This is exactly what I did. The clutch does become a bit harder to press, but I think it's still actually pretty light. I have no regrets about taking out the clutch assist spring, it makes it a much better ride. I don't believe it voids the warranty, but I can't say 100%.

Agreed, it's still a pretty light clutch. Certainly more so than some manual clunkers I've driven in the past

Basically. The video I followed used some pliers to clamp the middle two spring parts, then just slid it out to the right. Helps to have a second person to depress the clutch. Mine popped out pretty violently and hit me in the face, so beware of that, lol

So much better without the spring its night and day. Its firmer to press in without the spring but after 2-3 months it seems to get a bit softer. Much better though without it.

If the dealer says anything about the spring missing, Tell him you know nothing about any spring and that it should be replaced under warranty if it's missing! lol
