Can anyone tell me how to remove the A/C belt on a GT? Probably a stupid question but I don't see an obvious belt tensioner on that side.

What about dumping the A/C compressor?

What would be the weight savings?

Yea, I'm in the middle of the OPG tear down. I just cut the son of a bitch as I needed to get past that part.. But, how do you install the new one if there is no idler? I'll shoot RB a pm though.

Thanks guys.

I had to completely unbolt the A/C compressor...once I did that, was able to slide the whole thing forward a little, tip the towards center (pulley to center, butt to pass side), and get belt off. Thank God building race car....so that darn thing does not need to go back on!

I unbolted the compressor and tipped it forward to remove the belt. Putting it back on is not much fun. I tried it by myself and only managed to get the bolts started cross threaded. Ended up having a friend with a small pry bay putting tension on the compressor so the bolts would line up to get them started. Worst part of the job in my opinion.
