Ford Authority announced a patent was filed for this awesome feature. I hope it can be retro fitted to current vehicles.

I don't understand what's wrong with pressing the gas pedal to rev?

it is for showing off, instead of having to hop in the car several times at carshows, or whatever. I can see many situations where it's handy....to scare the crap out of someone messing with your ride for one. Or, at a Mustang gathering "gentlemen start your engines" ....all at the same time! Have you ever watched the bush man prank on YouTube? Perfect for something like that if you are a jokester. And so on.....

I think it comes with the Super Snake exhaust initially. Nice!

If it was something useful it would’ve been patented along time ago. That means it’s not.

People do cars for different reasons. Some because they actually love cars and driving. The engineering, working on them, driving them, cleaning them, maintaining them, moding them, etc., etc.

And some people just want attention.

Must be another product of the Lazy Millennial Movement...

Aside from that, be ready for the first article of a nimrod who left the manual trans in gear and tried to "rev from a distance"....

Hello; since the throttle of many, if not most, new vehicles is already remote controlled this does not seem so new. There is not a physical link from the gas pedal anymore. The throttle body motor opens and closes the throttle via a signal. So a remote control ought to be easy. I guess you could place the gas pedal somewhere outside the car and do the same in a sense. Likely some fail- safes to defeat.
