1. Regret I didn't order it earlier.
2. Regret not getting the 3.55 gears.
If it's still on order (and still in Order Processing) you can add the gears to your order.

Sometimes I regret not getting a white GT. Most of my cars have been white and I think it is such a classic and easy to maintain color. I love my guard GT, but a small part of me wishes it was white.

I met a guy last weekend who has white with the red interior and I was jealous....great combo.

Thanks! (Wasn't me but I have the same combo.) A part of me wishes I had gotten Ingot, or maybe DIB, for a little more drama. I have had a lot of white cars, I love the look, the ease, the cool interior. But maybe something different one of these times. No perfect choices!

Unfortunately, as far as changing the gears goes, it was built a couple weeks ago.

You can get the dealers to install options and roll it into your loan. That is of course, IF the loan hasn't been finalized. I have never ordered a car so I'm not sure how loans work for that. I almost had the 3.55 added to mine when I bought it but decided to give the 3.15 a try.

Always doing v8s and then I'm like "hey, lets get a car that meets in the happy middle in performance and gas" now I regret it and would probably get eaten alive on the trade-in.

This is exactly my dilemma. Heart wants GT M6 PP. Head says EB AT PP. (Important note: I have never owned a Mustang, only admired them from the sideline.)

A friend says paddle shifting is novel for a couple of weeks, then they just always leave it in auto. I can imagine the opposite could also be true for others: i.e. rowing gears is novel for a couple of weeks, then you'd just as soon use automatic. Especially for a daily driver.

If I get the EB AT, I will have some regret for not getting the GT.

If I get the GT, I will regret the bigger down and loan payments. All the savings could be spent on some fun mods to the EB and still have money left over. Longer range and less fuel on vacation trips. Can rotate the PP tires, too!

As for trade-in...
Which is the more correct thinking? A GT may have higher resale, but the +$7000 also takes a big depreciation hit. Wouldn't the buyer pool be larger in a few years for the EB AT? Seems the GT has to only be the "car guy" buyer, since it is "throwback" V8 and stick shift.

Get the v8 before CAFE makes them illegal!
Get the Ecoboost and embrace the new technology of power and economy!
Argh!!

Might as well keep the ecoboost for a couple years. You've already taken the depreciation hit. Upgrade in a couple years when the stang gets a power bump and an 8 speed automatic. Right now going to another s550 would be kinda silly even if it's the gt. That's my plan. I'll see if I want a charger or updated stang. Maybe even a camaro.

I had this debate and settled on a GT AT. There were only about 6 configurations I seriously considered, LOL, together with about 5 seriously-considered colors. So I had to pick one of 30 combos. Yikes. Got to have some level of regret no matter what you do.

GTs definitely hold value better than lesser models. I think you'll get the lion's share of the $7K back for a long time. But you make an important observation. NO ONE wants an MT, other than an enthusiast.

I have had horrible luck selling MT normal cars like Fiestas, Focus, GTI. I have never had anyone complain about a Mustang GT being MT, but given that more than half of new GTs sold are ATs, it's still a more limited market. But they who want MT GTs aren't going to buy AT GTs.

Get what your heart wants. Your head will get over losing the argument. Your broken heart, won't.

You know it. I know it also. Does he know it. ;)

There's enough threads/posts on here with people who bought the EB and then actually took the hit and upgraded to a GT. I think we're up to about 6-7 of them right now.

I have yet to see 1 person trade in their GT for the EB.

If you are going to keep the car, who cares about the depreciation hit. That's only for people who really trade in cars every 5 years or so. If you plan on keeping it for 10+ years, it's irrelevant really.

So you're going to spend a bunch on mods on the EB to improve it. Listen to yourself there. That money could just go to a GT. Also you are most likely voiding your warranty with tunes/mods/etc on the EB.

The gas savings is not that great. The more you mod it, the more most likely the MPG will go down though a tune will sometimes help it.

Also you'll be spending around 40 cents more at the pump on premium fuel to get the full HP/TQ of the EB. The GT runs just fine on regular and you lose about 5 hp total out of the 435hp.

You get about 18 gallons with regular to the same 15 gallons on premium with money spent on a fill up. That closes the gap to about 30 miles difference between them for same money spent on a fill up.
