My mindset wasn't about the shenanigans, just that somebody posted to ask " how many times do you redline a day".

I'd find it more interesting to know how many times do people fart a day in their Mustang. :headbang:
I avoid farting in my Mustang. ;)

Seriously, and having raced SCCA for a while, the more you redline it and the higher you set your redline, the quicker the engine will wear out.

<<< had a Monster tach up high on the dash with an adjustable shift light. Like this.

This. And the repeat questions where people start a new thread every time something occurs to them. Or posting in General when it's an appearance question, or power question, or wheel/tire question. Just overall ignorance to forum etiquette.

But I get it, they're excited about their car.

John Force doesn't shift. And he now drives a Crapmaro.
Figure of speech bruuuuu. And who cares what he drives now, it's most likely insanely fast.

I'm honestly sick and tired of people like this ruining this forum.
Since you felt the need to quote me twice... I'll return the favor.

I am not ruining anything. Lets get that straight. I usually help as many people as possible here and have quite a few friends.

Next..

You asked how many times people redline their car a day? WHO really knows or keeps track or gives a flying F? It's like asking "how many times do your open your car door a day" People might be able to answer that better actually.

" Slow my lil horsey down" ??

Are you 12?

I don't think people/OP really care how many times others redline...the OP is really asking/concered if it's harmful to the engine to go WOT or redline regularly..

On a related note, is there any harm in driving in the 4000-5500 rpm for extended durations?

How do you manage to hit it everyday? I guess I am old and slow, I have never hit it.
We are talking about the redline right ;) ?

Maybe, others keep track? I didn't know that you spoke for everyone around here?

Well, I used the search button. Couldn't really find anything. So I just asked a simple question out of curiosity. So, i'm sorry?

First part of his curiosity IS about red lining frequency, then afterwards he's wondering about the harm to the engine.

First answer needs a number, second part needs input on estimated damage.

But the issue I see is how everyone that post subsequently are saying they WOT everywhere everyday. That's the :tsk: part, it doesn't even have to do with the OP alone.

Just like the other day some guy posted a cellphone video of him flooring it to 100mph on public roads. I'm sure we ALL have done something before, but to publicize it then have people encourage further shenanigans on public roads.

The OP was fine in asking, the responses are fine as well. But how OP quoted to the other guy on how he's ruining the forum? I think that's totally rude, I'm sure all LETHAL wanted to share is how he sees kids races their cars and wraps it around trees when trying to prove themselves. Then you have OP come and attacking him saying he's ruining people's fun.

The thing is, I never said I redline 3-6. It's mostly just 1-2. And I live out in the country. I would never do that with traffic around. I'm sorry for any confusion.
