Hey Everyone,

So at a light next to a buddy I gave it a good rev, almost to redline. I noticed a small amount of wispy smoke in my rearview mirror right after the rev. It doesn't smoke during start up, idle or when accelerating this is the first time I've noticed it. No weird smells or anything either. I have a catch can as well. Any idea what it could've been? I'm tuned and in track mode so maybe it was running a little rich?

Smoke comes out of your exhaust, that's how engines work. I wouldn't be worried about it unless it's constant and it's got a blue/white/black hue to it.
Thanks for the clarification! It was white wispy smoke, not blue or black so I think I'm good.

Right. If it's constant, especially warmed up, white smoke usually means you're burning coolant. One wisp when revving is normal.
Thanks, it never smokes unless it's condensation in colder months and when reving, and even then it's only a minor amount. Coolant level has been steady for over a year now.

Yep, and if you have ever been behind someone shagging ass on an on-ramp, when they jump on it, many times cars blow out that brown crap. Just clean it out with daily high-speed runs

Lol, no joke. Especially some of the newer direct injection turbo cars. They roll smoke like a diesel sometimes. I imagine it’s like a thrill ride for carbon particles.

Put your car on a dyno and see what comes out at top end. Then you can objectively observe the situation.
