ive posted about this before but ive noticed a few things that I wanted some thoughts on.
I've been getting this rotten egg/sulfer smell for at least a month now whenever I go WOT in higher gears. I know this is coming from the catalytic converter but I don't know if it's the converter itself...
So I tightened the loose valve cover bolts and took it for a quick drive. Did quite a few pulls and I didn't smell anything. I'm not saying this is what resolved it but it's one possibility checked off the list for now.
I still have the stock headers on right now, but my cats are starting to smell a little bit more than usual so I'm seeing them in my future so thank you for the tip.
So I just checked the valve cover bolts and the two near the firewall on the drivers side were finger loose. Just tightened them up and am going to see if that makes a difference. Will update when I gave results.
Alright so this is the most confused I've ever been when diagnosing a car problem. Two days ago I noticed a burning smell similar to what you would smell with overheated brakes or a overheated clutch. I would come to a stop light and as soon as I moved again the smell would hit me and then...
So I've noticed this rotten egg smell coming from my car the past few weeks under heavy acceleration. I've owned the car for two years and I've never smelled it before. No CEL or changes in drivability. The smell isn't present at all under normal driving conditions. I've heard mixed things on...
For those of you who've had catalytic converters crap out what were your symptoms and what did you do to fix it? I'm about 90% certain mine are going out but I'm not sure yet.
Anyone know where I can get dowell pins for a 2016 Mustang GT? I bought an exedy clutch kit and there's a decent sized hole in the side of the box that I'm sure they shot out of during shipping.
Hello all,
Two weeks ago during a freeway onramp pull my clutch pedal engagement point dropped to about 1/8" off the floor. Normally it starts to bite at maybe 1/3-1/2 up through the pedal travel. What's bothering me is that it wasn't an ongoing issue that was slowly getting worse. It was...
*Final Update*
I was driving to my local mechanic yesterday and when I pressed the clutch in to go from 2nd to 3rd the car shuttered hard. After that the clutch engagement point was maybe 1/8" off the floor instead of the 1.5"-2" up that it normally is. When I got to the shop we looked at the...
So a little bit of an update here. I took the car out just a moment ago and really wrung it out for about 15 min or so to make sure it got nice and warm. I brought it back to my house and set it in the garage to look at the cats. Both cats look fine and aren't glowing red, I went ahead and gave...
Yeah im going to take it on a quick drive and see how it looks. Also going to setup something with Ford to look at. Pretty sure they'll fight me on the warranty since I have a catback but it's worth a shot.
Yeah I always let the car reach 180 head temp before doing any hard pulls. I'm not sure either, just started a few days ago. Haven't noticed a change in performance, idle condition, no check engine light. Not sure how it's happening.
What do you think the best course of action would be? I've taken my car to Ford for issues before and unless the car is visibly on fire they tell me it's fine.
Hey guys,
A few days ago I noticed a rotten suffer like smell whenever I would floor it. Goes away pretty quickly after and isn't present during normal driving. Is this something to be concerned with?
