Red line/Rev Limiter

I thought mine was flashing red 100-200 rpm early but figured it was all just happening so quick and i wasnt watching closely enough

OK...So this morning I took a detour through Mexico, on the way to work, for a couple of 3rd gear roll on's to the rev limiter. In sport mode with the semi-bar graph tach displayed, I saw 7300rpm's before the rev limiter kicked in. Did a second pull and payed attention to the digital tach and saw 7200 right at the rev limiter. Third gear allows a longer, slower pull so tach lag is not an issue. Also noted 113mph right at the rev limiter. My car has 3.73:1 gears and the manual 6sp tranny btw. Puzzling that the red line is 7400 but the rev limiter kicks in at 7200...Why? Can the rev limiter be changed with a tune?

Anyone with PP1 6sp and analog gauges done a roll on in third to rev limiter? RPM & speed?

6sp pp1 with analog gauges and I hit the limiter at 7400 or 7500 rpm. 115mph iirc. Been a long time since I got it tuned. And yes a tune can raise your rev limiter. Mine is 7850 now. Make it easy to rev all the way to 7500rpm with out hitting it. I get 118mph out of third gear now.

Thanks.... exactly what I was looking for. Car has stock tune but still pulling hard at 7200. Seems like I hit that limiter just about every time I run it through the gears in first or second gear. Makes no sense to have a red line higher than the rev limiter will allow.
