I have a GT350R rear deck lid, I’m trying to come up with the best way to strip the paint. Is the lid Aluminum or steel? I trying to decide on a chemical strip or plastic bead blasting.

As far as I know it's steel, The hood and the front fenders are aluminum on all mustangs.

The lid? As in the black part between the tail lights, or do you mean the trunk body panel as a whole?

The decklid panel is just glossy black plastic.

If you lookup FR3Z-6340110-A part on tasca parts, it apears that all of them have the same factory number. As long as I drilled holes in my deck lid few days ago, I can confirm that deck lid is steel. If GT350R and EcoBoost have the same deck lid, then it's steel.

Perfect I was thinking it was steel but I wasn’t 100% sure. I found one from a totaled out car for 300.00. Now I don’t need to drill holes. It’s already done 😂. I think I’ll have it dipped to prep it for paint.
