I am really confused about the rear spoiler on these new Mustangs. I have not received my car yet so I am trying to find out what the rear spoiler looks like. I have seen a few stangs at the dealerships but I am still confused. The only spoilers I have seen were on other than GT models. And those have been the spoilers that do not extend beyond the trunk lid. I have seen pictures of GT's with both styles. So what is the difference in these cars. I ordered a GT premium with 401a and 50 year appearance package, so which spoiler am I going to get?

It's pretty simple, GTs get the spoiler that hangs off the edge of the trunk lid. EcoBoost models get the one that ends at the edges of the trunk lid. Both models have options for spoiler delete (included with both performance package models). GTs will not have EcoBoost spoilers and vice versa.

I don't understand why the Performance Package DELETES the spoiler! I like the spoiler! Why remove it?! Is that their way of penny pinching?

If you order your car without a spoiler without the Performance Package it takes no money off of the price of the car by removing the spoiler.

The current S550 spoilers are cosmetic only and serve no performance purpose so it's probably just a weight reduction for the PP. There is also a chance that it has unwanted functionality (only drag but no added down force) so it's removed on the performance model. Just my speculation.

Thanks guys, does it change at all if you get the 50 year appearance package? One thing I know is you can't get spoiler delete with that package

The 50 year with PP is a jip. You're paying 1595 for the 50th AAP, then 2495 for the PP, but getting PP rims, no money is taken off the 1595 for the 50th AAp rims you don't get. It sucks. I passed on it when I got the PP. If you're not set on getting the 50th but want te nicer interior I would suggest getting the GT premium with PP and the premier trim package. It's not too different than the 50th. The dash trim piece is a different brushed metal look, the 50th emblem won't be on your seat back, you get the regular "since 1964" badging on the passenger side, the shift boot and e brake handle is a little different, but other than that they are mostly the same. I still have the white stitching in my seats. Exterior no gas cap, no 50th rims, and no stable around your pony in the grill. But since you're getting the PP the rims don't matter. You're basically saving 1100 dollars (If the differences are ok with you)

I honestly prefer it without the spoiler- that spoiler just doesn't look right in my opinion.....i would like to see something similar to the previous model GT500's spoiler

I personally like the spoiler and wish my red one has it, but that's the price of the PP I guess :-/

I would prefer to get the PP but I prefer a convertible more and you can't get PP on a GT convertible, you can get it on an ecoboost but not the GT. I don't get that. So back to my question, does the spoiler change with the 50 year appearance package?

I don't think so, but I am not sure. Look at some online on dealership websites. Look for a 50th AAP with the PP. There is plenty of them out there.
