REAR SHOCK ISSUE

I recently installed a pair of steeda pro action rear shocks on my 2016 gt. Wasn't my first time changing a pair of shocks on the mustang. Pretty easy process or so I thought. After installing them and taking them off again and re-installing them something still isn't right. I'm hearing all kinds of clunking noises coming from both sides and the ride quality is terrible. I doubled checked everything and insured everything was properly secured. I'm not sure what's going on here. Could it be the shocks? Has anyone ran into the issue?

Everything is stock. Do you know how he corrected the issue?

Did you properly torque down the top nut? Depending on how you did it, could have killed the shock too.

I made sure to properly tighten the top nut on the shock. I know that it could damage the shock. Not sure what went wrong here.

There are spacers provided with the shocks, if I recall. Did you use them for installation?

Did you call Steeda and go over your installation process? Do you have photos of your assembly? Did you allow the shock shaft to spin uncontrolled when tightening the top nut? Did you install the spacers? Did you drill the stock shock mount properly?

Yes, there are spacers that need to be used. Was thinking the same thing

Yes, I feel like I followed the instructions perfectly, but still no luck.

I plan on calling Steeda in the morning. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos but I feel like I did everything right. I'm thinking the shocks are just bad.

Can the shocks make clunking sounds over certain bumps? I've been thinking its the shock mounts the whole time but OP didn't change his mounts out and has this clunking.

For sure not. I’ve driven thousands of miles with my ProActions, sometimes on roads with quality issues that would challenge SUVs, and my dampers don’t make a sound.

OP, seeing as you don’t have the Steeda mounts, I would check that the bottom two bolts holding the shocks are torqued fully. If you’re using hand power, and not air tools, these are a pain to get tight.
