I have Viking Warrior Double adjustable rear shocks. These things are very noisy and I’m about done with them:

Had the shocks re greased and new bushings put in, recommended by Viking. They’re only few months old.

I also have Steeda Pro action adjustable front struts along with Steeda progressive springs that I’m getting ready to switch out for Steeda min drop.

Would it be best to go ahead and use their Steeda Pro action adjustable in the rear or what would be the preferred choice?

I only take the car to the drag strip 2-3x year and mainly do spirited driving and occasional roll racing.

Any suggestions be appreciated.

Thanks

When you say noisy, do you mean constantly, or when you drive over bumps or something? I have KellTrac Vikings on mine and the product description came with a disclaimer that they were noisy. However, the only time I hear noise is during takeoff. Mine are surprisingly very quiet.

I wonder if your spring isolators are worn out. Mine were with only 8500 miles on them. I discovered it when I switched springs. I could see witness marks on the control arm where the spring was making contact with it.

I only have about 500 miles on the shocks and 1,000 miles for the springs. Getting ready to switch the springs to the minimum drops and hoping that will help.

And yes noisy when going over any small or large bumps in the road.

I gotcha. I don’t have that issue, but I can see how I could have, if I hadn’t changed the spring isolators before putting the new springs in.

I recommend getting new isolators before you tackle that job to be ready for it.

I have the same set up and same problem. Thought the noise would be the fluid moving through the internal valving but they actually make clunking noises which is unacceptable even for a racing shock. I only use them for the occasional drag strip duty. The new Steeda double adjustable's look promising if they're as quiet as their struts are. Doesn't look like you can adjust them without taking the wheel off though. Also, one of my Vikings went bad after only a few thousand miles. Never again.

Im actually going to order the Steeda pro action adjustables this week and switching out the Vikings.

I know on their website they state they cause some noises, but I didn’t expect this much.
