Rear inner wheel wells?

Just wondering the rear wheel wells appears to be covered with some sort of carpet ! I am assuming that it is a sound dampening ? What is the best way to to keep them looking new .

Yes, it’s for sound deadening for road debris that gets picked up by the tires.

At each wash, just use a long handled car wash brush, dip it in your car wash solution, scrub and rinse. Easy as that…

Not looked into this, but some sort of carpet. The thought of that bothers me. What kind of expected life could that have ?

Think I'd consider a spray on under coating of sorts. Thank for the heads up, going to have a close look and consider options.

I’m thinking of redoing the carpet with laminate, or maybe I should lay tiles ?

Joking aside the carpet lasts well, the other half’s puma had it and even in old age and year round driving it came up well. Jet wash working from the top down is your friend

They put that on to reduce road noise. Had that on my C6 Corvette. OK for ten years.

Tons of GM cars have this and have for many years. I'm sure other car companies do the same thing.
I don't see it as a concern and if I did worry about keeping the wheel wells looking like new I might consider seeking professional help for my ocd...

My camaro has them all the way around ,honestly they are Superior over the super then cheap s550 front inner fenders. Much more thicker .

Any focused water soray should clean those out pretty well. Garden hose spray attachment works fine. Pressure car wash, even better

Oraddtech I am definitely OCD . And probably will baby and take care of this car and try to keep it as close to new for as long as I can

Here’s a tip , after you clean them up really good , spray some sort fabric coating on them to keep them protected.

Something about carpet in/on a car outside of the cockpit. Seems just odd & unnatural, how about shag carpet, clean the face of the tire... really would be handy running cup2's.

The weirdest thing i've learned about the Mustang yet . All models have this, 350 -500 or is it just the s550 so blessed .
