I have a 2020 Ecoboost. The rear end seemed to be jumping around a lot when I hit small bumps in the road. Within a few months ate the back tires. Completely stock car. Took it to get aligned at a big chain tire store and they said they couldn’t. Said they cant do alignment on newer Mustang. I placed a straight edge on both back tires and both wheels on the rear are pointing slightly left. This causes it to track in a crabbing way down the road.
Anyway, has anybody experienced this or have any idea what it could be?

Have you owned it since new?
I've seen older cars and trucks do that. It's usually because the rear axle has shifted in relation to the body.
If you're still under any kind of warranty I'd take it in. Otherwise I'd start looking for a shop that is good with suspension and talk to them.

try another shop. They should be able to align it, its not a complex rear end and its been in production since 2015 now.

Don't listen to those morons at tires stores. Take it in to a reputable shop that knows what they are doing. Asking here will give you no answers really, it is not common for this cars to crab walk. Only cars in accident with frame/suspension damage do that which I doubt for your car. Probably just needs correct alignment or something in suspension is off.

No. I’ve only had it for 6 months. Bought from a Dealership used.

buy the IRS alignment dowels (STeeda/BMR), drop the IRS bolts, insert dowels, get it realigned. You either have a case of a egregious drunk-Monday car, or abuse by PO that shifted things.

Look for torn bushings at the IRS mount points. Better yet, add Whiteline drop-in IRS isolation bushings while you're at it.

Well yeah but thats if he wants to work on it himself. He needs to get it diagnosed first, thats the first step.

I assume you are out of factory warranty? The fact about that tire shop saying they don't work on newer mustangs tells me they dont know wth they doing. Good luck hope its just alignment.

We, that's unfortunate that you don't really have any history on the car.
Did you pull a Carfax report or have it inspected before you bought it? There could be any number of causes. PO bumped a curb at cars-n-coffee, a poorly repaired accident, etc. Some people try to self repair or pay for repairs in cash to keep it from reporting agencies.
Again, find a good shop that does suspension repair and they will be able to tell you what's up.

I so wish I understood what you’re talking about. Lol. I do my own car work but you’re speaking way over my head apparently. 😀

By chance did you get a pre purchase inspection done on the car by a reputable mechanic? Did any suspension components come up in the initial analysis?
I just checked the car fax to make sure it hadn’t been wrecked. I test drove the crap out of it though.

I had the carfax and it was all legit with no wrecks. I test drove it for a week with no issues. It seems to have gotten worse over time.
