Success! Re-tapped and it went right in. Glad that fiasco is done.

I've had the kit for ages so thought I would fit it and get it out of the house.
The cradle was quite a bit off centre from factory,
right side went ok but the front left was way off and no amount of pulling and pushing could get it centered enough to get the bolt in, after 3 hrs I gave up,
with out being centered it is quite easy to cross thread the bolt, only using hand tools so avoided that situation.
I left the spacers in and temp put the OEM brace plate back on.

I did some searching and found someone has the same problem and turned out they had the park brake on, once released the cradle was able to move to get it lined up.

I'll give that a go on the week end as I had the park brake on and see what happens.

Man, if that's what ends up being the difference between an easy install and a stripped bolt. UGH! :headbonk:

Please let us know as that will be extremely helpful to others.

I can't imagine a single reason why this would be the case. All the parking brake does is stop the wheel from moving.

today we loosed off all the bolts and took the 4x 13 mm bolts out from the front braces, then using a ratchet strap and pry bar moved the cradle into position
making sure the bolt went in only using hand to turn if it started to bind take it out and move the cradle around and try again.once it is in then tighten up every thing to spec as per the instructions.

Job done. booked the car in next week to have wheel alignment.

I'm currently working on installing the Diff bushing from BMR on a 2017 GT350. I've had experience installing them in the past using STEDA's on a 2017 GT, which was just as challenging. Had to drop the MID axle bearing and exhaust at the cats, but got the driver's side in without a lock washer; it wouldn't go in without starting to crush the fiberglass gas tank liner. Then I was ready to put the cradle back in place with alignment dowels and a lock-out kit. The passenger-side bolts went in, and the driver-side had a hell of a time aligning them on the driver's side (before I remembered, I just sent it when it got hard to tighten on the previous car). However, how hard the bolt just stopped after about 4 to 6 threads was alarming. After a few attempts, I decided to use a tap set, and I found this thread to verify its use, and the correct tap 14X2.0
