Just thought I'd update everyone on what happened when I went to the dealer. Couldn't get the rough idle to start up and I didn't feel like leaving it overnight again for them just to tell me they couldn't replicate it. I'm now at just over 5000 miles and I've noticed it happening less and less (although I could just be getting used to it). The shifter was making this clicking noise though whenever you would push it to the left from the neutral position (like you would to shift from neutral to 1st or 2nd).

So the guy agreed to take a look at it and found that the reverse lockout collar was having some issues. It was catching the shifter and causing that "click." So he showed me that he put some grease all around the boot of the shifter (where the rubber collar is)
before putting it back together. He said unfortunately with new cars like this Ford is still researching the problems so there isn't much he can/knows how to fix. Not the greatest answer but I understand how these things go. Anyway I can still sometimes hear the click but the grease has definitely helped. Its in the computer now so if I'm still having trouble he said bring it back in and he'll look into a better fix/replacement parts.

Anyway things have def improved if only slightly. I don't know if it just needed to be broken in more, it was the grease, or the warmer weather but the car is running alot better. I will revisit this issue in the summer if it continues to be a thing. Really hoping its just the cold weather causing the rough idle/crappy tranny fluid.

Long story short I don't think Ford is holding out info on anyone as they genuinely don't know themselves (frustrating as that is). I will keep these issues in mind as the weather gets warmer as I have noticed an improvement. Good luck to everyone having these issues and make sure you keep everyone (including Ford) up to date!!

Nemesys today my car started making that awful noise. It was 72 degrees here today so I know that cold fluid is not the case. Push the clutch in noise goes away, clutch out sounds absolutely awful. Should also note that today is the first time I have not been able to shift my car into any gear without grinding while the engine is off and clutch not depressed. Usually when I park I pull the ebrake, turn off the engine and bump the lever into 3rd. It goes in no problem. Today not a chance. Tried it in other gears wouldn't go in. Restarted the car to this awful noise as soon as it got to the low idle. This will be my 3rd trip to the dealership for these issues since buying the car in Dec.

Can you get a cell video of it? Also please keep us updated on what the dealer says.

Question about the idle......

My car is doing something similar to yours, but want to clarify to see if it is the same. At idle sometimes my car will have a shake to it, best way to describe it would be as if the car had a baby cam installed which it doesn't. Is this similar to what you are feeling?

I feel this sometimes too. last night i started it and it died right after firing up. Then later in town it litterally started sputtering when i slowly let the clutch out to get moving.
It was ok after that. I also have other trans things that bug me. I think im gonna have to take it to the dealer this weekend. :(

I'm still here guys! I recommend having a dealer check out the situation. If you do, let me know. I'll take a look into assistance options on my end. :D

I've been trying. It hasn't made that noise since that one time. To anyone wondering if their car sounds strange on idle, trust me if it is this noise there will be no question. I have never heard anything like it. I worry about going to the dealer because I cannot replicate the issue despite trying a handful of times over the past couple days. Right now I'm at ~6500 miles so I was going in for an oil change soon anyway. I will try and get a cell video to show them before heading in in case they can't replicate. They know I've had issues with my drivetrain because I've been in there twice already. I think a video of this would be enough for them to pull the transmission and have a look around. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted.

I'm not sure I've never been in a car with a baby cam installed. The shake I feel is different (I think) from the normal v8 left right vibration. Its much more random and jery left and right. You can notice alot in the seat and by watching the shifter shake left to right like crazy. I will say that it has calmed down alot more since its been getting warmer here. My problem now lies with the constant grinding shifting I'm having despite the warmer weather, occasional gear lockout, and that awful idle noise I had the other day that Nemesys detailed pretty well.

My pleasure, arrow94. I recommend giving the dealership a heads-up or scheduling an appointment before heading in. You can schedule an appointment here.

That what mine does, took it to the dealer, and theu said that how v8 is auppose to idle, i knew bringing it to the dealership wouldnt help any, so i guess it will stay like this until something breaks, then maybe they will fix it.

Out of curiosity, as I do experience the same little weirdness as you do with the vibration. Do you mind on your next cold start letting it idle down for about 5-10 minutes.

The thing Ive noticed is the drive-train on this car is pretty damn quiet at about 750-800 until it idles down completely at 650, then the noises tend to start and the vibration/lumpy feeling begins. You can even hear occasionally itll try to rev up too.

See if you can snag a vid of the idle down from the middle 800 point to the final 650 point. I wonder if theres a huge difference in the way the noise sounds on yours. For example, this is what I hear at that idle point.

At 58 seconds the noises start. It slowly quiets down after it warms up completely though or if its been driven.

Did you ever find out the issue for this reason? I think i am experiencing the same thing on my 2019 Gt with only 20,100 miles
