I also read the problem with the fluid being too high is that it gets up into the planetary gears and it froths it up, which cause a whole other set of problems.
You may have seen my thread about having a pan produced with a standpipe in it to get the fluid to the correct level easier. Many transmissions have this feature and I believe it is available on the GM version of the 10R80, the 10L80. These transmissions were designed as a joint venture between Ford and GM. Rather then being twice as good they ended up twice as bad with a couple of design flaws. The ones in Ford trucks are know to fail prematurely; I'm mostly talking about the early ones, they first came out in 2018. In any event PML, who produces aftermarket aluminum pans, seems interested in producing one with a standpipe for the Mustang. I hope they do as it will simplify draining the fluid in the pan and getting it back to the correct level.
