I also read the problem with the fluid being too high is that it gets up into the planetary gears and it froths it up, which cause a whole other set of problems.

You may have seen my thread about having a pan produced with a standpipe in it to get the fluid to the correct level easier. Many transmissions have this feature and I believe it is available on the GM version of the 10R80, the 10L80. These transmissions were designed as a joint venture between Ford and GM. Rather then being twice as good they ended up twice as bad with a couple of design flaws. The ones in Ford trucks are know to fail prematurely; I'm mostly talking about the early ones, they first came out in 2018. In any event PML, who produces aftermarket aluminum pans, seems interested in producing one with a standpipe for the Mustang. I hope they do as it will simplify draining the fluid in the pan and getting it back to the correct level.

I’m convinced most dealerships don’t want to touch it. Mine ghosted me when I asked about the warranty I paid extra for. All my problems disappeared with a tube. If it was mechanical, that wouldn’t be the case. Are you stock?

E85, headers, tune. I flashed the tune again and haven’t had any issues yet, so we’ll see

So many people worry about the warranty with the tune, but I couldn’t get them to do anything stock. Hope it works out for you! Maybe the tuner can offer advice.

My buddy that’s a master tech thinks it’s a sticky thermal bypass valve.

Drove it today to get the e85 out of it and flash the stock tune back so the dealership can read it.

Driving down the highway on cruise control and it does this:

Then threw the wrench and these codes and locked me out of every gear except 5th and 9th

Cleared the codes and it was fine again for the most part.
The dealership has it now

Dealership just called me saying the car is ready for pickup and they found no issues lmao.
2.5 weeks for nothing

Sounds like a ford dealership. I have a lifetime powertrain warranty, so I tried everything with my dealership. I shared any data I could. They told me even if I brought it in, they wouldn’t be able to replicate the issue. So I asked about the warranty. If there was any possibility I could pay the deductible and they ghosted me. A tune was cheaper than a new trans and the problem never occurred again. My issue was at higher speeds though, not sure if yours was similar.
I suspect most of these guys have no idea given the high turnover at the dealerships. They’d mess up a wet dream, I wouldn’t trust them to do an oil change.
