Thats what I figured.

Close on a tow hook is good enough.
As far as your car goes, it will be close enough, I am not sure I would ever see it out and about.....:giggle::giggle::giggle:

I'm gonna try black first and see how it looks, then decide on whether to paint it or not.
I'll post pics when I get it back.

These are definitely nice pieces. They used my car as the initial test mule. Excellent write up T.

The red looks good on that car, T, I just don't know how it will look in body color on mine. I'll have to wait until Tom installs his painted version.

Mine showed up yesterday and it really is a fine piece of craftsmanship. Come to think of it, I'm not sure where I put that clunky factory hook. NBD, I'll never use it.

Trap door should be here Friday so hopefully by the weekend I can have some shots.

Tob: I'm thinking about setting up my laser level to point at the center of the female side, then install the door and punch the center at the same location. Do you think that will allow me to use the minimum diameter step drill or will it still need to be elongated?

It's in paint right now. When I have it, I'll let you know.

I like to disassemble things.
KB, using the laser that way is a great idea.

I did it by inserting the hook and measuring at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock from the hook to the embossed perimeter on the bumper. Then I removed the hook, installed the cover, and marked it at those dimensions which gave me an idea of the necessary circumference location. Step drilled it from there and verified fitment with the hook in place.

The laser level idea seemed to work. Unfortunately, I discovered that even my largest step bit isn't large enough so I gots to get another. And, as Tob mentioned, the center of the hook shaft is considerably off center from the trap door.

Well, the body shop was kind enough to paint my tow hook to match my RR CFTP. I think it looks great.

I am unsure about the knuckle being RR as well so I asked Raceseng to supply me with a black knuckle. Excellent customer service.
