Agree after reading these articles there really is nothing at all to be excited about. It's slower than the 14 GT in the 1/4, greatly slower in the 1/4 than it's self proclaimed goal, the Boss. While no actual head to head testing has occurred yet on the track I suspect that it will be slower than both the Boss and 1LE.

Bottom line after all the hype the following similar priced cars will beat you:

1/4 Mile
11-14 Mustang GT
12-13 Boss Mustang
392 Challengers (SRT8 Core & R/T Scatpack)

Track
Boss Mustang
Camaro 1LE
This is a really ignorant post since Ford never said they were trying to improve 1/4 mile numbers. They have made it very clear from the start that they were focused on track performance and improved handling. Anyone with basic drivetrain knowledge could have told you months ago that this would not be faster in a straight line due to the increased drivetrain loss associated with switching to irs from the solid rear.

Trap speed is higher for 15 then the 14 GT..I call that a bad driver.

Yep. Usually the case. Can't tell shit comparing these tests to Jo schmo that's a good driver on a cool night in south Louisiana who ran a 12.40 on stock tires blah blah blah.

We didn't have an M4. We had an M3. I, personally, would rather have the Mustang over the BMW. I am biased, yes, but as fast and competent as the BMW is (and it is stupid-fast), the Mustang, to me, is the more involving car to drive. It talks to you more.

It destroys the M235i, IMO.

PP suspension is more than friendly enough for daily street driving. This is about as perfect a setup as you could have hoped for....until the SVT car arrives.
I'd consider the M235i if it had factory LSD...yeah I know you can spend a fortune and get one port installed now, whoopdeedoo.

I'd also consider the M235i if I wasn't tired of having turbo and other various issues with BMWs.

My review of this review -

Has the most detail of road feel and contrasts to the S197 Mustang, along with commentary of a potential "gap" in the suspension tuning. That gap, however, was referenced in the context of the larger picture, which is helpful when determining whether or not it is a balanced driver.

Smiling at "grumpiness of Taurus-driving Robin" :)

I'd like to know the DA (Density Alitude) of the testing site if available.

Wait what? So that's getting rid of the piped in engine sound...but are you telling me if you pull that you won't have any stereo function at all?
Anyone know about this? So if you pull that fuse will you lose the stereo function or just the piped in exhaust note?

Interesting. Extremely disappointing to hear, but interesting.
It is interesting it seems to change the sound that much. But that also means it will do the same thing if you take out the sound tube in the GT. One's mechanical, one electrical. Both necessay if you want engine sound in a car so dedicated to removing NVH.

Noonz,
I'm curious as to why you say this car destroys the M235i. From what I can see from the numbers, it looks like it mostly keeps up with the M235i, but hardly destroys it. I presume there is something not represented well by the numbers alone. If you had some time to expand on that, it would be great as you have driven both cars.

The numbers don't tell the whole story. The Mustang is simply the better car to drive. So much about the new BMWs felt artificial to me. The Mustang is the more communicative car. Better steering, and it just feels alive compared to the M235i. As another editor on hand during the testing put it in one of our many discussions as we swapped cars, the Mustang GT is the superset of the M235i's abilities. The Bimmer is a nice car. Fast. But it should not have an M badge (it, in fact, has 16). if I'm spending the money, I'm buying the Mustang. For me, it's a really easy choice. I believe it's the better car, and by a wide margin.
