They had one as part of their performance car of the year test
D'oh! Don't mind me, I somehow totally missed the link in the OP and was wondering where everyone was getting their info from, heh.

I find it kind of amusing that it is the editor of R&T that is one of the major voices of reason right now on the forum. It seems so often the enthusiasts are the ones trying to defend the cars they love. I know a few people that have driven the S550 and reported similar positive things. I have full faith that many will be just as enthused as you when they get behind the wheel.

Quarter mile time: 13.0! Say it aint so. We need some more testing!
It ain't so.

Look at the 2.2 second 60-foot time, for a PP with 3.73 gears! That's just horrible. There's 0.2 to 0.3 on the table right there, and more by the end of the run. MT put up a 112-mph trap speed, with a slightly-less-mediocre 60-foot.

I think we'll see different results when the drag racers from MM&FF get their turn at this car. It's going to me in the mid-12s, and the AT will be right there with it. (And the EB will be into the 13s.)

I wonder if these mags even used the new launch control feature when they did the acceleration tests with these manual GTs? I have a funny feeling they didn't...

FWIW, I fully expect MM&FF to have the fastest quarter-mile times. They're always consistently quicker then most of the other books.

I can ask Robin.
Noonz I think we should get a more enthusiastic person to review. I call Shenanigans..lol

"Much to the aggravation of Web Director Alex Nunez, I’m just not a Mustang kind of guy. Yeah, I wanted a Fox-body 5.0 back in high school when they lived in new-car showrooms and I had never driven one. I’d find out later on that the intoxicating sound and butch looks weren’t enough to make up for how poorly it actually drove. The first time I drove something German and nimble, my pony-car fantasies subsided."

I was completely turned off after reading this and would have rather seen a "Review Coming Soon" place holder instead of reading a Review that just sounds like he's filling a page to make a pay check and go home...

Oh, you'll get more from Jason. He was gleefully posting line-lock photos earlier today...

The numbers don't tell the whole story. The Mustang is simply the better car to drive. So much about the new BMWs felt artificial to me. The Mustang is the more communicative car. Better steering, and it just feels alive compared to the M235i. As another editor on hand during the testing put it in one of our many discussions as we swapped cars, the Mustang GT is the superset of the M235i's abilities. The Bimmer is a nice car. Fast. But it should not have an M badge (it, in fact, has 16). if I'm spending the money, I'm buying the Mustang. For me, it's a really easy choice. I believe it's the better car, and by a wide margin.
Owning a 135is.. I am looking forward to driving a GT.

Good. That first guy needs to show more passion...you know he only gets to drive around awesome cars for his job and type his opinion...he could be a little more animated and less bland.

Cool, thanks!
Boom. No launch control used.

Robin's gonna try and re-test tomorrow if he can. Stay tuned. We'll update the post accordingly when we have fresh numbers, and I'll share here directly, too.
