Why in "the hell" would Ford give us S550 manual 5.0 guys a Chinese trans. Would be cool if they addressed the past trans issues in A Faster Horse and made ugrades to it for the s550.

If I stick with the T56 plan I'm down to sell it. I have an MGW as well with 2 days of use on it. Wonder what shipping is like from here to there.
Let me know, I'm sure we can figure something out. Not even that bad of a drive actually. 6ish hours.

Gonna be coming out of the car on Sunday most likely. The T56 should be in next week so the 82 is all yours if you wanna come grab it! I'll give you the trans with the MGW still attached for 1000.

Which hydraulic throwout bearing are you guys using on these cars? I put an Exedy 500 in with an Exedy throwout bearing about 5000 miles ago and after dropping the trans yesterday I saw that the green boot had torn near the end and slid back exposing the spring. Is this normal/safe to reuse? I feel like I should replace it with the new trans but the only offering I'm seeing is from Exedy and the last one fell apart so I don't really trust it. What should I buy?

photos?

Is there a warranty on the Exedy?
I'll have to check with them about a warranty. Thanks for the tip! Here's a photo of the torn boot on the TOB.

Also, what do you think of my flywheel/pressure plate? The goal was to machine the flywheel and reuse the pressure plate with the new 26 spline clutch disc but it looks like it got a little hot.

Is the boot torn? I cannot tell in the photo and I don't know how that should look when properly assembled.

It does look like the flywheel got hot. And if that's the case, the clutch got hot too. Is the Exedy clutch organic or ceramic?

Not torn I guess, the green boot just separated from the end. When I put it in the green rubber extended all the way to the beginning of the silver metal. The white part wasn't showing. The clutch is organic, but I'm not going to be reusing the disc so I'm not trying to salvage that. I just want to get an idea if you think the pressure plate is salvageable

I don't know why the green boot would separate.

I am not a mechanic, so I don't know about the state of your flywheel and pressure plate. But considering that you have S/C, and have been through a transmission or two, I would go for a high torque ceramic clutch, along with new fly wheel and pressure plate.

Just got the T56 kit today and I'm already confused as hell on the driveshaft. This is what they gave me

This is where the driveshaft is supposed to attach to my diff

This is my old driveshaft where it attached to the diff.

What the hell am I missing? How can that possibly work? I checked all the boxes for some kind of adapter plate but there's nothing. Am I being an idiot or am I missing a part?

Looks like they want you to pull the CV style differential pinion flange and install the one that they gave you.

Transmission is installed finally. I was instructed to leave the speed sensor disconnected since the speedo gets its info from the wheel speed sensors. However, this drops a code and is pretty annoying, so I will need to figure out how to wire it in properly. Also, on the 1 to 2 shift as well as the 3 to 4 shift the RPM's hang and even start increasing making those two up shifts the most annoying thing ever. Third gear also seems to have a little bit of nibble that does not seem normal. Anyone know if I need to have my tune readjusted for the gear ratios of the transmission in order to correct the issue of the hanging RPM's? Also, can someone tag BBR in this? They were the ones that sold me the kit so maybe they can weigh in on this.
