What size are the strut tower nuts fine or coarse thread. I had a mechanic shop cross -thread the studs and need to re-thread them and buy new nuts (2019 Mustang GT)
Thx

If you don't get a response, when I get up I will check my 2019gt and let you know.

The 1.5 is the thread count. You buy a M10x1.5 not fine or course.
Like he said, buy a M10x1.5 Die and run it down the bolt head using a penitrating oil like WD40. with the taper side facing down. This is the starter side of a die. Good Luck

You literally have a die on that picture... Show it to your mechanic if you don't what it is, if he doesn't know, run. Fast.

I would also throw the word very
in LMAO

FYI, for that location, buy the hex head die which you can use a crescent wrench or socket to thread down. The round dies would require the adapter tool which I feel would not have the clearance/room to turn. Good luck

You may want a thread chasing / thread repairing die. The normal die may take off more metal than wanted if the "mechanic" installed a nut with the wrong thread.

That would be true if this person isn't experienced with using taps and dies. A thread chaser/restorer would work well but I don't know if you can buy them individually?. If I was him and didn't have a need for these tools, he should just go to a shop and have them chase it, buy a new nut and call it a day.
