2015 mustang gt. have in my hands 18 manny/lockouts, 18 intake filter box/snorkel/k&n filter, 54lb injectors from 2020 gt500 and all the supporting stuff. already spoke to wengerd about a tune and can do 91/e85. I like that it's switchable from a phone. tech I have not ever had from my old 4-pot tuned car days.

question is out in the southwest 85 is kinda sparse. it's around here in vegas but going to see my parental unit in BHC az, no bueno. if I need to fill back up with 91 with 1/3 tank to get home I'll likely get something with 20% ethanol which neither tune will account for. how do you all run this?

I had an evo9 back in the day with a TON of mods running 31psi thanks to a snow meth injection kit and a solid tune but it was kind of a pita to drive out of town having to always pack meth and don't want to turn this car into the same headache but have heard way too many positives on the power gains from corn to make it worth considering...

tia for any advice.
and fwiw I don't have any desire to go forced in the future as it's just too expensive in my mind...

It's best to run it as close to MT as possible then add the other fuel, and dont got WOT for about a mile or so until it fully mixes. I ran flex tune for Rob and that's what I did no issues

A 91/93 tune should run just fine on E20/E30. It'll richen it up a little bit automatically.

I'm struggling to understand the post. It's some sort of switchable tune using a phone? If so then why not switch it for the correct fuel?

Why not a flex fuel tune with the PCMTEC sensor-based logic?

It works great and I’ve had tons of success with it.

No tune flashing, no apps, no laptops, just put pump gas or ethanol in it and drive.

PCMTec sensor-based logic, PCMTec switchable tunes, or even a stock OS flex tune would all work and be more seamless.

I initially understood I would get a 91 tune and an e tune. changes via phone flash. but I do see that he does pcmtec for an added cost. now just need to figure out how the ecu knows what the ethanol content is. assume there's another part to buy and install.

tech has changed a TON from my old evo days and still learning all of this.

The PCMTEC logic, if supported by your tuner of choice, adds the ability for the PCM to read ethanol content from an ethanol sensor in the fuel line.

If Wengerd supports this, he should be able to point you to what you need.

Can this ethanol sensor logic be integrated into a 2017 GT? Anyone know of any tuners who support this functionality? Thx!

went down the rabbit hole.
coming in the next few days are the flex fuel install kit from rpg, a zeitronix ethanol gauge(just because I want to know), an avid tune unit and once I have it all together a tune from wengerd.

going to be a busy end of the month installing everything...

That’ll be something you’ll have to sort out. Some appear to support it only in certain cases, some seem to support it for anyone, and some don’t support it at all. Your best bet is to reach out to tuners you’re interested in and ask.

This is a little older thread, but I use Wengerd, and have a flex tune from him. I run dedicated e85 though and just use the flex for a tank or two if I am switching fuels.
