Thanks Chris;
Is the Magna Ride part of the Track Package? If yes, I'm considering only the Base model and no packages.
oh, I should mention... if you're "Women crazy"? They seem to really like the Heated / Cooled seats on the Tech pack. My wife hasn't driven/ride'en in the car without touching the heated seat button. Tech pack comes with the same Magnaride.

It's a great daily driver for Florida.

The low end torque is comparable to a GT. First gear is a lot taller than the first gear in a GT, though.
I like that!
Many years ago, I had an M3 that had a tall first gear and revved real nice and high. I loved it.

I personally like the tall first gear as well. When just cruising around I often shift 1st to 3rd when leaving from a stop and if I very slowly roll through a stop sign I'll shift 2nd to 4th.

I loved my 2011 GT 5.0 but it does not compare to this car. I feel much more confident in the GT350. The handling reminds me of my 2004 Subaru STI but with a smoother ride. My wife didn't like riding in the STI but so far loves this car. Of course, the VooDoo is crazy. I pretty much keep it in sport mode going back & forth to work. Now if only the snow would go away so I can drive it again:frusty:

Great comparison and feedback against STi.
In fact I was about to buy a 2004 STi and went with Z06.

Regarding GT500, I drove my friend's 2010 and almost killed myself in a simple U turn when I lost the back over a bump.

I had an 04 STi as well, this isn't close to as jarring as that was.. and yeah I'm more confident in my GT350 which is saying a lot for a RWD car.

For me, two things will win me over a car or I walk away.
1) Confidence it car's behavior (Something I didn't find in previous generation of GT500)
2) Good all around visibility, that with a quick glance, I can see my surroundings, especially over the hood.

Visibility isn't as good as in my 350Z (hood is taller on GT350), but the visibility is still quite good overall.

I have the track pack and the suspension is very comfortable in Normal mode, and still decently comfortable in Sport mode. Much easier than my 350Z (which is now modified and is 13 years old).

The Recaro seats are perfect for me.

I was not surprised at how well the GT350 handles, since that is what it is meant to do, but I was surprised at how easily it could cruise.

Good thread. I only planned on the GT350 being a weekend car, but as it sits right now, there is no more parking available in our wide driveway(fits 7 cars) for another car. I might have to sell my current DD after all, and use the GT350 as a DD. Looking to hear more owner opinions on this. I'd also go for the Base model only.

The GT350 is extremely refined - and can hide it's race car qualities if you take it easy. It could be a daily driver if you wanted. ( I think that would be a waste of it's intended purpose - but it's definitely something that could be done).

The ride is one of the smoothest, refined and quiet (in normal mode) that I've ever experienced in a car with anything close to its capabilities.
The main thing that detracts from a daily driver role is the tram lining. This is expected though with the front tire size and soft rubber.
I am using it primarily as a weekend car because there is NO enjoyment driving to work in rush hour stop and go traffic.

Haven't driven mine much due to crap weater, but I have a base model. As much as I wanted Magneride, I can say the car is great so far without it. Very solid but not harsh.

If you don't mind, you should post up your impressions and review of it. I think most, if not all reviews are ones with one of the options.

The only issue IMO with the GT350 as a DD is the pretty poor fuel economy (even when trying to take it easy) coupled with the tiny gas tank. Many trips to the gas station if you have a long commute.

Worth it though.

Someone mentioned the car not being fun in traffic, but I beg to differ. Put the exhaust in sport mode, and you can make nice sounds even when moving along at 1000 RPM. Or run it up to 2000 and then let the snap, crackles, and pops amuse you.

This car is way more fun in traffic than most IMO, for those reasons. But of course it is even better on an open road (with corners).
