So I've searched and done a lot of reading on this topic. I plan to buy a new mustang here in a few months. I plan to supercharge and mod it. It will be a toy so it's not my daily. I like the bigger radiator and brembos in the package. It says chassis stiffening. What exactly does that mean? The strut brace and what else? So I'm looking at a base with pp. or base with 3:55s. Thoughts?

If you take the car to autocross or road course action, definitely get the PP as the parts that come with it are good for that performance and are cheaper than what you would get otherwise.

If it's just a fun street car, go with the base package.

There's a couple big threads that discuss what exactly is in the package, basically it's the brakes, diff, radiator, swaybars, rear shocks, better front springs, some braces and a few other odds and ends.

You'll have to go 3.73 gears if you get the PP, which most people consider too much gear if you're blown. Traction is often a problem. The majority will tell you to get 3.15 gears if you are installing a supercharger, but I know there are some around here with the PP and a blower.

The automatic is stronger than the manual trans as well and you can't get that with the pp.

Go with the automatic if your supercharging. If you like to replace clutches and axles the PP is the way to go.

I wanted an auto so I got a California special and then installed the Brembos.

CS gives you a big front splitter and the strut brace, but not the extra instruments, bigger radiator or 3:73 diff either.

Front swat bar is the same and if you go square, you don't want the different rear bar.

I want a manual. No auto for me. I will mostly be driving for fun. But I used to autox a lot. So I'm sure I'll do some random events. With kids I just don't have a ton of free time like I used to. Blower is for sure in the plans. I will go to the strip for fun as well. I guess I could always get the pp. and sell the bits I take off.

Also I've read a squared vs staggered stance is better for handling?

It's not necessarily about "squared v. staggered" when it comes to handling. It's about being able to have the widest possible contact patch front and rear. I've seen many stangs run a staggered setup but the front was sporting a 295+ and rears 305+.

IMO, most road-course guys go squared so they can rotate and get a little more of their money's worth out of those super sticky tires.

There's the strut tower bar that goes between them and there's a brace on each side that goes from the strut to the firewall.

If your car is designed for neutral steering with a square setup and you put wider tires in the back then your car will tend to understeer. There is a thread in the tracking forum that has recommendations for tracking these cars.

I will have to check out that set up thread. So far sounds like I should just get the pp.
