I'm in a market to purchase 19-20 new gt and wondering if im taking a risk to purchase 19 gt that's been sitting at a lot over 400days. Anything I need to look for? Or should I just pass and get 20 model?
Thanks!

Brand new is brand new. Iā€™ll change the engine oil or have them change it for sure.

Also might think about getting them to replace the battery. Chances are it has been severely discharged more than once, which really degrades battery life. Mine sat on the lot for about 10 months, and the battery did not hold up well. Had to replace it after 3 months of usage. It wouldn't last more than a week of parasitic drain, and almost didn't start a couple of times.

There's no risk, just have the dealer change the oil before you take it home. Not only is oil only really rated for 1 year of continuous use in a vehicle, but a lot of times dealership cars get started cold a lot and driven short distances which can dilute the oil with fuel. Other than that I'd check on the condition of the paint but that's about it.

How many miles are on the 19'? Was it a test driver or a lot sitter?

I purchased my current new 2019 Mustang on 12/27/19 after it sat for 300ish days, it needed;
-New battery.
-An immediate clay and polish (black color).
-Some buffing due to a few bumper marks here and there due to idiots cleaning snow off etc.

I did save 14k off of a 54k car though (had $2,500 private offer).

-In 2013 I bought a Mustang that was on the lot over a year also and no problems.
-Also bought a 17 Camaro SS that was on the lot for over a year, no problems either.

If you can get 25% off I would go with the 19.
The benefit, you are able to get new cars more often!!

I bought a leftover 2018 1 year ago... Wasn't sitting on the lot that whole time but it had been test driven quite a bit with 400 miles on it.

My car sat in the lot 15 months. Not a single issue in the almost 9 months I've owned it.

A 19 is great..just got mine in Jan 2020 after it sat for about 7 months . No issues..it had about 120 on the odometer when I took delivery.

ā€˜I saved about 6k over the 20 and got all the features I wanted.

The only concern was the paint. Looked like it needed a good clay / compound some swirls and defects but a good detail/paint correction took care of that.

you still get full warranty. I got 1472 on the odo now and no issues. Of course I have not driven far because of covid.

Have about 2300 on mine. Picked it up was on the lot for 6 months a bit dirty and some paint flaws but hey... I brought right before the pandemic and saved about 16% off MSRP... so an ok deal they really took care of me on my trade in though.
