Hey guys, I have my eye on a 2017 that has very low mileage and its up for ~$52,000. I have a appointment with the sales manager on Monday to go look at the car, and there's a high chance that I'm going to end up getting it assuming all goes well. The salesman sent me the carfax and it's squeeky clean, the car was bought 7 months ago and returned cause the owner had to move to another country (allegedly), hence why it has really low miles. Anyone have experience buying used ones and can give me tips/advice on what types of things to watch out for? Anything I should ask the dealer related to the car? I've only ever leased new cars so I'm not too experienced with this whole process. Thanks! :ford:

That would seem to be a good price depending on options. I would just look underneath it from front to back as these things are low and careless drivers can ground them out on all sorts of things - speedbumps, curbs, etc. Check for any wheels that have been curbed, etc. Ask if they have the factory displays and box that are sent to each new owner. Make sure it has the seats you want (and fit in). Otherwise it should look like a new car and have full warranty.

I think most people ask to see the OASIS report for the car - tells you what kind of service history it's had - might be too soon or just not show up on Carfax.

Take it for a test drive. Wait 15min after you shut it off and Check the oil level. If it’s low it’s probably been driven low for awhile. Check the A/C - while driving

^^ Good points.

Also check to see if AC is colder from one side of the center vents than the other. Sign that evaporator core is leaking/failing.

As already mentioned get an Oasis Report and also ask for a copy of the window sticker as this car may have come with a car cover which the WS will indicate.

Obviously check the chin spoiler for marks or gouges, rear tire depth, leading edge of the hood on the drivers side as the drivers windshield wiper cannot come up all of the way when cleaning or detailed the car and in many cases paint could be missing from the leading edge of the aluminum hood based on the wiper blade arm coming in contact with the hood.

Curb rash on the wheels should be checked out and of course with some FPC engines oil consumption can be an issue so check out the oil level and if purchased keep an eye on it especially for the first while.

Checking the VIN on the engine and tranny is easy as well but the Oasis Report will indicate any changes as to these items and will also confirm your warranty start and end date.

Hopefully this car comes with the GT350 Owners Kit as well?

Good luck!

;)

Silly question but does Ford offer the equivalent of CPO like most German brands?

I'm at a Jeep dealer right now about to buy a magnetic 2016 gt350 for 45k. Not super low mileage 30k but hey it's a great deal and in great shape.

Edit: just realized I need to change my username lol
