No false knock, tuner said try some octane booster. Had the car on the dyno in nov made 448hp 405 tq i think it was 10 degrees warmer today car made 435 396 tq smh. He told me to add a octane booster. I really don't wanna have to buy octane booster to get the full potential of my car smh. Ive never had to add it before, i don't look forward to having to add it now. Im thinking bad gas was pulling timing out. What else could pull timing? thanks

Yeah I would not accept adding octane booster as an acceptable answer unless this is purely to add more power back. Otherwise I would assume the ecu is pulling timing for safety. But if it's sensing knock yeah I would suspect a fuel issue too. Then again I don't really know enough to know.

Exactly I'm not putting that in my car. No spark knock was detected .Maybe airflow idk. Air filter isn't dirty. I have a jlt

You said 10 degrees warmer but what were the temps during both Dyno runs? IATs of both runs? Coolant temps of both runs? Either of those hitting a certain point depending on the tune will lower spark advance. And the actual temp being higher could account for the lower numbers by itself. If you're not seeing positive knock then there is not much point in putting octane booster in. It may help some but it's not really worth it IMO, which it sounds like you feel the same way.

70 degrees today 60 in nov I think. I'll have to get the exact temp from him. Both pulls done in the morning. Coolant temp idk I'd have to ask him. Yeah he said no knock. Exactly I'm not adding that. Car made power without it. When he first put the car on the dyno. I noticed the fans weren't on.(dyno fans blow into radiator) car made 418 I was pissed. 3rd pull he turned the fans on and it made 435. I'm also thinking maybe the car was just hot after the 3rd pull. Maybe if the dyno fans we're on, on the first pull, I would've gotten better numbers

Well 70 degrees is one of the thresholds for the IAT spark adder table. On the 60 degree day you spark was blended between the 70 and 40 degree values. Assuming you had IATs between 70-80 degrees on the second session, you were blending between the 70 and 100 degree values. So yes you spark was lower on the second session. How much depends on the tune.

Do u think if he would've had the fans on in the beginning i would've had a better number or close to what I had in nov?

All things being equal probably not. When the temp is warmer, the air is less dense. All other things being equal, a car should never make more power in a warmer temperature. Not saying it's not possible, just not likely.

if the car is pulling timing because of knock, it's pulling it for a reason. it's not the tune, the tune is actually trying to give it timing.

3 things to try.

1 - oil seperator, if your getting oil in it will delute the fuel
2 - fuel quality - add a can of octanium or torco. if that fixes the issue, it's fuel quality, it just is, it's not rocket science, if better octane fixes the issue, it's the fuel

if neither of those fix it, look for vibration issues, if you have headers, check the ac bolt, if it's not hitting or very close (engine does torque) then look elsewhere for something touching / hitting

I have an oil separator, I guess I'll go ahead and try the fuel additive, I do have a vibration coming from the rear. One of my mufflers is hanging low. When I ease off the clutch and tap the gas I hear and feel the vibration. Tried to tighten the mufflers but they keep falling down smh. When I floor it, I don't feel or hear any vibration only when I lightly tap on the gas. It's possible for that rattle I hear in the rear to pull timing?

Ok I'll try torco. I'm looking for a Axle back that directly bolts up to my ARH long system. Get rid of my stock mufflers. I keep hearing from other people that stock tubing leading up to the muffler is restrictive plus I'm tired of the sound. Whats a good Axle back system to go with, without having to cut anything? I was looking at flow master and mak mufflers because both systems have less bends. The mak has a sharp bend leading into the muffler. The flow master doesn't, but I also dont want any drone. What should I do?

U have to cut stock muffler off and clamp the Roush mufflers on right? Or does it bolt up?
