Was doing a 1-3 short stretch pull went fine up untill going into 3rd got locked out and pushed me into 1st saw 8k on the tach no clue if more but it didnt hang at 8k for a long time maybe like half a second at MOST. realised my clutch was sent into obliteration just coasted and prayed. Started the motor still warm reved it up to 6k everything sounded fine throttle response still felt there. Strap towed it home 3 hours later with the engine idling no issues what so ever. engine made no new noise no CEL, cant really test it as it wont move at the moment lol. Was time for a clutch anyway and finally time to get a new shifter in there so this dosent happen again. Ill run a compression test on it. Did I get lucky? Or did I go past the point of no return probably bending a valve?

Yikes. Been there. If you bent a valve you'd probably already know it. I did a similar thing back it the day. I went from 5th to first instead of 3rd at 65mph. Bent 5 valves cracked 3 pistons on my first new car with 1500 miles. Luckily the dealership fixed it under warranty. You might have got lucky if everything seems fine.

Please report back with details after you’re able to remove the tranny and inspect the clutch.
I will make sure to post some pictures! Probably wont get access to a lift for the next week.

Sorry to hear that and I hope it’s just the clutch.
What do you mean that it pushed you into 1st after 3rd got locked out? I have heard that sometimes one cannot engage 3rd when shifting at max rpms but didn’t know that that can lead to “push” the lever into first. Asking because I also have a manual…

Im a very hard shifter I like to slam gears pretty hard. It was partially me but at the same time I was not expecting it to lock me out so with the force I was putting on it, it kinda just "slid" me into first unfortunately I did it so fast I didnt even have time to think what just happened before it went.

Little side note update.

Just got the car back from the dealer for another issue "No AC" under warrenty. The good news is AC is blowing cold now. The bad news is I cold started it this morning motor still sounds good. Although apprentaly I guess im procharged now . I get a loud continuous "Supercharger whine" sound that pitch scales with RPM increase. Im thinking alternator or maybe a belt pully? Im curious why its doing it now when during the tow home it was perfectly fine and made no noise what so ever. Im wondering if maybe the dealer messed it up or if this is just shear concidence of making the poor alternator or pully experience 8k rpm my voltage still looks good on my battery doesnt go below 14.1 volts at idle.
