Good morning everyone, I was doing a tech inspection this weekend and found both my front wheel bearings were loose! The driver’s side was loose enough for the wheel to wiggle a bit.

These were brand new Ford racing wheel bearings with extended studs and new Ford nuts. Installed in April of this year and torqued to 250 ft-lb.

I cleaned everything with carb cleaner, applied a generous amount of threadlocker red and retorqued to 250 ft-lb. Everything seems to rotate smoothly. Wish me luck.

Oh boy, red threadlock is the nuclear option, haha. At least it's an easy you can easily heat with a torch in the future if you need to replace the bearing again.

Threadlocker red isn’t nearly as strong as people make it out to be. I practically drink the stuff. Everything still comes apart when needed, even cold.

Ford used threadlocker red for the high pressure fuel pump NVH cover. It made me very uneasy until I understood why the bolt wouldn’t turn easily.
