I like engine noise. And road noise. And exhaust noise. I like all noise. ;) Seriously though, once I get my car in about 5 weeks i'm going to be ripping out the back seat and trunk carpeting so that will only increase noise. I have never cared for sound insulation too. I have a substantial sense of disconnect with a car that I cannot hear. It has to be heard for me to feel that man/machine connection.

I've had my V6 for 3 days now. The one thing I've noticed was the road noise from 10-30 MPH. I was worried that a bearing or rear end had a problem, but after reading here I guess it may be road noise. I may look into sound proofing the trunk under the carpet.

I've heard the limited slip 355 rear end could make some noise. Is this true?

New tires make sounds. Wait until they are worn in they will sound quieter.

A layer of dynamat in the trunk wouldn't hurt.
Exactly what I did. Helped a ton but then I removed my Cats. Kind of negated any quietness.

Before buying, compare it to Easwood's sound deadener. When I was redoing my '66, I studied them all. That was 2012. Eastwood is virtually the same and was half dynomats price. four years later, no regrets.

What I hear a lot of is tiny stones & crap hitting the wheel well liners, would love to quite that down somehow.
I know it's 3 years later, but this. Totally this. Rocks hitting the liner all day long.

If you want to make a serious dent in road noise, my Firestone Indy 500 tires made an amazing difference (compared to the original Pirelli P Zero Nero's). I will most definitely buy 500's again when the time comes.

On a smooth blacktop road at 70 or below, my 18GT's only real noise is the stock exhaust. And man do I love that sound.
