As I'm your intake manifold isn't seated? I think that would be more apparent the higher the boost and at idle with unmetered air. But then again I can't hold any timing without knock sensor activity now with my 11-14 manifold. I have no idea why.

I also know there is not enough space between the front bumper and the front support for the surge valve hose. Going to look at an alternative.
If your running our standard valve, there is a lot of room.
Almost to much actually. Does your install look like this?

I gotcha. Yeah mine worked out but man it's a closer temperamental fit with self cut-to -fit kit parts. Would be nice if the kits had custom fit parts but you can't have everything in a $6k kit I guess lol

Sadly over the 20 years of making kits, we had WAY WAY WAY more complaints about people wanting us to NOT cut any of the tubes, because they would rather do it themselves. (Honest fact)

Some people want long rubber/silicon connectors, others want short as possible and to make sure all hose clamps line up exactly.

Either way, its easier to cut a tube, then try to make it grow. :) :)

So at full tilt the thing just pulls and pulls. I do not have any surging at the dreaded vacuum into boost area. However I do have some as I am going from 3K to 5K while flooring the throttle. I will work on that. I think it is mechanical either in the surge valve or in the intake not seated itself. Not too hard though.
How much boost? Lund should be able to iron out the hiccups if its in the tune. I don't have any surging at any rpm or throttle postion. Have to love having no IMRC.

Seems like there were some headaches with the Procharger kit. Now that everything seems to be fine, would you recommend this supercharger or would you go another route?

I plan on ordering my kit at the end of this week, but I want to go with more boost right away, supporting mods etc. Is the only way I can avoid the surge is with a different manifold since I would need custom tuning from Lund? This whole surge thing is the whole reason why I have been bouncing back and forth between a whipple and a procharger.

Why not buy our normal out of the box STG2 kit?
Makes 600+ rwhp with good fuel
And surge is 99.99% gone with our stock tuning.

Then later if you want to up the boost you can, if your fuel allows it.
(octane quality that is)

can you order the stage 2 kit with the D1 and still run the PC tune?

I feel all power adders will make great power when setup correctly. Now that I have the procharger system running well, I would still go with the procharger because I like the way it sounds and performs. I have had both whipple and Kenne Bell cobras, figured I would try the procharger avenue.

It all depends on what you want. I don't think you are seeing surging issues with the whipples because of the removal of the IMRC system. Death to IMRC. Procharger has said they have minimal surging with their complete kit, but if you want more power, you are going to have to go with a tuner kit and custom tune. Do yourself a favor and ditch the stock intake and go with the 11-14 intake manifold.

My goal is 700 whp, and I have plenty of good gas around here, along with lots of e85 when I switch to it. You have any dyno sheets handy of the stage 2 kit?

700rwhp is certainly doable on 93 pump gas. Dyno in my sig.

No the D1SC only comes a a tuner kit, so you would need custom tuning from a dealer.

STG2 kit with the P-1SC-1 makes 600-625rwhp with the stock pulley spinning the blower 53k rpm. (9psi) on pump gas 91. No surge no drama.

You can always change the pulley later, to up the blower speed/boost
The P-1SC-1 can spin fast enough to support the power goal you want.
No reason for D-1SC, unless your trying for 800rwhp.

Once the custom tuners get their surge taken care of on the high HP cars.
Then you can add the E85, and injectors and be set. But could be enjoying drama free 600+ rwhp now (maybe more if you add a little boost, until the injectors can't hang on)
